So, I'm a new ps3 owner and I was thinking of picking up PLaystatin All stars the other day. It had a label on the front saying I get a free copy of the ps vita version. Well I don't have a vita and I was wondering if I could give the vita version to a friend. Is it possible? Or is it like disc only or something?

I think you could actually give the Vita copy to your friend, but to do that you'd want to have him sign in to your PS3 and then activate the special features on his account.  He'll then own the downloadable version of the game, and can either download it from the PSN or else download it to your PS3 and transfer it to his Vita.

Oh yeah, but I should mention that I got the game when I had a Vita, but when I tried playing it with my girlfriend on the PS3, we couldn't play it together for some reason.  I think you might be unable to play the PS3 version of the game with the Vita version that came with it, but I'm really not sure.  I no longer own a Vita so I can't really comment on that.

o, its not like a code voucher I could just give to my friend? Really? That's dumb, it say its a cross platformer. To do just sounds like bad marketing on sony's part.

It's not exactly bad marketing. It's called cross-buy because you buy one version and get the other one free, but you need to link the Vita version to your account if you have the game on blu-ray. Technically, you buy one version and get the other one for yourself, Sony doesn't want people giving away their games to friends as it wouldn't be a profit.

Just click on the Disc Benefits option and have the game linked to your account to get the Vita version for download, then your friend can log into your account from his Vita to download it. Just keep track of how many people have access to your account.

Its not bad marketing at all. Its just you not understanding.

Cross buy games are games that are on the ps3 and vita. So when you buy one it gets added to your PSN user account name so you can access the game on both systems instead of having to buy the game twice.

No, there is no code you cant give it to someone else. Its on your account.
