As most of you may know, the newest peripheral is out for the ps3. Comming for around 49.99 its something like the Eyetoy.

Question is..Who is buying it? Gimmick, or something good..I already have the original eyetoy, got it for free from a friend of mine. Are you getting the Ps Eye?

I will be buying it for Eye of Judgment as well :D If if didn't come with that, I probly would never buy it, just like I never bought an Xbox Vision...

I will probably wait a bit to see if it has any interesting applications and to see how it handles light sources. I was never able to get decent lighting in my room when i had the original eye toy. I ended up using it just to watch myself play the hands and legs mode in ddr. Haha I look like a jackass when i play ddr.

Nah. I don't have my EYE on that gimmicky item. The whole purpose of it is a joke. You'll get a whole 3 crappy game disks (ever to be released) full of "mock Wii" mini games. I've yet to see it serve a real purpose.

i'm definetly getting, along with Eye of Judgement, also the noise cancelling, omni directional mic will work great since my headset is broken :|

eyetoy was a complete gimmick - but with the power of the ps3 and the chance of video calling and gesture control of the menuthen how could you not buy this?

and with the tv add on, kb and mouse control and sky agreement with sony..... the ps3 will soon be THE centre of media at home!

I'm getting the EOJ. Looks promising for those who still love the card based games (i.e Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, etc...). There's a lot of potential in this series--I hope it doesn't end there or else I'll have a lot of cards gathering dust. :)
