So I bit, and dropped the $100 for the Move bundle, and this is my feeling...Why are there no games to play!

Apparently there's 50 games out for, more or less, but looking at the catalogue it's embarassing. Even the games aimed at casual gamers, which I am not one of, are just terrible. Sports Champion held my attention for all of 20min, and that goes for anyone I show the game to. I just finished Dead space: Extraction, and I loved it! But there's nothing else like it out right now...WTF! Anyone else regretting their purchase?

They definitely haven't given it the software support it deserves. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard The Fight is pretty great. I don't know, I love sports Champions. In the next few months though, I think the Move's software library is going to blow up. Just be patient. I know it sucks feeling like you've invested in useless tech, but I promise it'll pay off.

I too feel like they need to get their act together and support the Move a little more. I think they should make some big budget AAA move games that gives people a MUST PLAY value. because as of now there is no software that could persuade people to buy it. they are all bad to decent.

Killzone 3 is GREAT on move! You really should buy that game, it's so much fun using move.

^ Just thought I should note: I do not have the full game, obviously. But on the demo, I used move and it was very responsive and a whole lot of fun, so I'm expecting the same for the full game.

If I were to list decent Move games: Killzone 3 Littlebigplanet (only a small portion, plus create mode) Dead space Extraction Tumble Heavy Rain Not many games... I've yet to try echochrome 2, R.U.S.E or the fight.

Even if they don't want to make a Move game form scratch, Dead Space shows that you can port Wii games and make them better on the PS3, I know they're already doing it with No more heroes. I'd love to see Silent Hill:shattered memories(awesome flashlight gameplay), Mad world, House of the dead, and Resident evil 4 as Move enabled games.

On top of that, you can take pretty much any old arcade rail shooter and turn it into an awesome multiplayer PSN game.

i'd rather have sony stay focused on their core games than release 10 awful, gimmicky wii-wanna-be games. i'm glad i never gave in. it's a great peripheral, but it's simply not made for core gamers imo.

I'm a core gamer, and I can tell you that it CAN be used for hardcore gaming, gamers like yourself and developers like Sony are just scared of over committing to something new and untested. I have an eyetoy, bluetooth headset, sixaxis and the Move, and yet for the past 3 years, the games I've played are 99% joystick and button based...There's nothing next gen about that.

I think allot of people feel the same about Kinect.

ktseymour

But the Kinect hasn't promised anything to the core gamer, unlike Move, which Sony stated would not be only for casual gamers, and to their credit, Killzone 3/LBP2 implementation was a sign of that.

I maybe in the minority but I have high hopes for Socom4, its develop by Zipper int. The company that put console gaming on the map, and makers of MAG(An So-so game). I believe KZ will feel alot like many FpS game you can play with the Move. While Socom4 will be a different Experience

Socom has always had something to go along with it- PS2 Mics, and PS3 Blu-tube. Socom Communication is always important for the top-notch experience. While Bfbc2 and CoD are not that big on communication. I think the difference in playing Socom4 and KZ, will be like alot like playing MvC3 with the Joystiq, then playing something like Tekken.

If your not looking to get Socom4 then the Move probably will feel like having a mic just to have one. Or having a Joysiq with no real reason of having it.

(I doubt if this new Socom will be the same in having good Communication).

I hope for your guys sake it doesn't fail but I bet it does and you guys shouldn't have bit, at least not this soon. This is why I waited, I knew this would happen, at least I thought it would and it did lol. If it comes out with a game I find it worthy for, for instance, if The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim let me walk around with a shield and sword using the move, I'd have been all for it, playing a sport game when I can walk outside and do it? no thanks.

It seems like a casual accessory for a hardcore console, and although it can be used for hardcore games, it doesn't offer enough of an advantage to be worth $50 plus $30 for the camera. If they want to sell more of them, they should create a really good family-friendly Move franchise and advertise the living hell out of it.

It is to me to a certain extent. Move needs more software. Sorcery looks like a great idea, but I hope it's not rushed just to bring more move titles. I don't really want all of Sony's exclusives to have add on controls.......I want games developed around the move.

Quality software takes time. At least that's how I look at it. Personally, I bought Move for the same reason I bought DJ Hero, to have something different to go to when my go-to games get stale. I've gotten quite a few hours out of Sports Champions with friends and really enjoy Shooter.

this thread is the reason i havent purchased one yet. if they can make a good original and intuitive AAA title based on using the move as a primary controller then i'll consider picking one up, if they can make a couple of those games then i'm definitely sold. until then though, why purchase it if theres no move specific games available?

That's fair. Some of us though, love having the "new thing". If there weren't early adopters, there would never be better software down the road, they'd just scrap it. ;)

I would agree with that. Sony has done a great job of providing first party support for it, but this is the sort of thing that other publishers won't take advantage of until they can see that it's viable.

^ exactly, the support for kz3, heavy rain and others is awesome but really to me those are "we made these to use for ps3 controllers but we're going to take some extra time to make sure the move support is fun" games. i want a "this was made meticulously specifically for the move and will blow you away because of its level of detail" game.

They aren't just shoveling games out for it like another competitor i'm sure you know of... They are adapting good games to work with it and in about a week KZ3 comes with Move support for all levels plus i hardly think you want to mimic a swimmer or a traffic controller with Move so if i were you i'd be glad there aren't as many shovelware games coming for it.

^ i never advocated shovelware or even an overabundance of games. i just think that they should have started dev'ing games for it long before it came out so that there are multiple AAA titles available exclusively for the move at or near release.i figure if the company really wanted to sell it they would have made a couple innovative and fun move only games. not move patched controller games.

Honestly, the whole motion gaming scene need to die. Sony/Microsoft are tryna cash in on the wii market. End of story.

In the beginning everyone said if wii had better graphics then the games would be great, ok so ergo ps3/360 steps up into the market, but now there's no games to actually support it. All in all the vast majority of the gaming scene isn't about motion experience. The wii is fun because the core experience is geared around motion. Where as ps3/360 aren't.
Your not going to see big name developers working on a project from the ground up designed around the move simply because they understand the market and statistics. Sure games will have tacked on move support and ports, but they wont be choreographed from the ground up to be AAA titles specifically for move. You alienate your audience when you dedicate towards a peripheral device.

Real talk here : Out of all your friends/people you know who game how many of them actually care about move experience? It's too gimmicky. Like what ever happened to siaxis? Same boat.

In the end it's your preference if you'd rather use the lollipop wand over the controller. So be it. Just dont expect anything to venture onto the scene that's gonna blow you away. Usually if your regretting a purchase right away... it wasn't the right buy for you.

i figured you were probably joking, though sometimes in GS its hard to tell the kidders from the trolls (kinda like how interpreting sarcasm isn't alwayseasy)
as for the games that came out, yes there were a few move only titles that were released but from what i've seen they appear to be the aforementioned shovelware. they might be decent games but they're not what i would consider an enthralling gaming experience. i've seen sonys first party support ofgood, fun and innovative AAA titles like kz2, GoW3 and Heavy Rain. what i want is that equivalent move experience, what those games did to be fun with a sixaxis i'd like an equal quality move game. i know i know, im asking for a lot :P

I definitely hear what you're saying and I guess my original point was those games didn't come out when the PS3 came out either. They took time for the devs to produce those kinds of results and I imagine Move happening the same way. I may be way wrong, but in the meantime, when I have friends over, playing some Sports Champions or Shooter is a good time so I wouldn't say I wasted my money. That being said, I do hope that Move designed AAA titles do surface eventually to make my purchase more worth while.

You gotta give it time. I think there've been a lot of good titles so far. I like sports Champions. Me and my friends play it on video game nights. Dead Space is amazing. My wife thinks Zumba is fantastic.

Plus, I've played games on the Kinect and Wii and theMove wins hands down in responsiveness. I always get a huge lag when I play Fight on the Kinect.

The games will get there. I remember when the PS3 started out at $599 and people thought the price was crazy and there weren't enough games. A few years later and BAM, people love that Bluray and 3d are built in. I think in a year every awesome game will be move compatible.

I felt the same way when the PS3 launched a few years ago. The system gathered dust and was hardly used for over a year at one point. Now its used everyday and i can hardly keep up with all the new games. Move is the same thing. Im sure, one day, Move games will be more than plentiful.

I also have Playstation Move, and yeah, I hardly ever touch it. It's been a while since I last played it. I actually only played it a few times. There just does not seem to be a whole lot of games for it at the moment. I do want to get Playstation Heroes so maybe that could be good. I don't know...

How are you playing The Fight on kinect? It's a sony exclusive.... And a peripheral isn't gonna get the same support that a full blown console does... Especially from a manufacturer that loves to throw "innovative" new technology at the wall and see what sticks. I really doubt that every AAA sony game will have Move support, but it would be good to have more games adopting it as an alternative playing style like Killzone is. I'm just really hoping that more developers find innovative ways to use Move, I just see so much potential in it, especially coupled with 3D.

Killzone 3 is GREAT on move! You really should buy that game, it's so much fun using move.

not really imo , sorry but i had to switch back to dualshock cause aiming precisely with move is next to impossible for me , i might get the gun attachemnt to see if it helps but i can enjoy the game only with a ds3 right now , maybe im just too much used to play fps like that dunno , the 3D effect is pretty cool tho

^ It's actually very good and takes a little while getting used to it. But if you can't get into using the move controller than there's no point really getting the sharpshooter, might as well save the cash right.

i'll definitely get it , i like using the move because its fun , but in FPS my aim is much worse with it compared to gamepad and the turnarounds kinda erratic , that sometimes leads to frustration but ill play on casual with move and veteran with gamepad , maybe i just need to adjust the deadzone , sensitivity etc. to match my playstyle exactly , or just practice more

i think it is quite premature to call the move "a missed opportunity", it has only been out for more than 3 - 4 months, the developers need to find innovative ways to implement this piece of technology other than using it as a simple light gun or a copy of another peripheral... it has tremendous potential and accuracy which could even be used for rts games in a "minority report" way, i for one was expecting it in ruse but unfortunately its implementation did not live up to my hopes... :) give it some time and i am sure there will be some who use it in quite intriguing ways... :)

The problem is that it is a accessory peripheral. In the whole history of game consoles such have tended to see poor developer support. Even the original DualShock.
[QUOTE="robmonga2"]^ It's actually very good and takes a little while getting used to it. But if you can't get into using the move controller than there's no point really getting the sharpshooter, might as well save the cash right. AmnesiaHaze
i'll definitely get it , i like using the move because its fun , but in FPS my aim is much worse with it compared to gamepad and the turnarounds kinda erratic , that sometimes leads to frustration but ill play on casual with move and veteran with gamepad , maybe i just need to adjust the deadzone , sensitivity etc. to match my playstyle exactly , or just practice more

Definitely adjust the dead zone and sensitivity. Developers always tend to set those conservatively. (though at least they're not putting the dead zone all the way up to the corner anymore)

What I find strange is the terrible reviews of "Kung Fu Live" and "The Fight: Lights Out". Awesome but very tiring games. But I think it's only because couch potato games reviewers can't be bothererd to get off their a$$ and they don't like sweating. They give them bad marks. They are great and fun games. It wouldn't surprise me if there were other games out there that are good but less well known because of bad reviews. The Move hasn't got support from game critics. I think most want it to fail.

I would agree with this from what I have seen. It really seems like a lot of reviewers think they will be labeled as 'uncool' or not a real gamer if they like anything that has to do with the move. It is a shame because from a technical standpoint the move is really quite good and while I have enjoyed several of the games that are out so far (Sports Champions and yes even Start the Party) I can only think of how cool it would be for developers to really grasp this technology and bring some new and creative ideas to the table.

Yes, this is pretty interesting... I've heard only good things about The Fight from friends, and only bad things from reviewers...
