I came across this while searching for some info on Playstation Plus:

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/05/29/rumor-sony-revealing-playstation-plus-revamp-at-e3

http://playstationlifestyle.net/2012/05/29/rumor-sony-to-announce-playstation-plus-revamp-at-e3-that-includes-vita-integration/

It could be very interesting :)

However, I'm wondering if those of you that have PS+ are happy with the service. Would you recommend it? Has anything weird or frustrating happened with your purchases? I spend money at the Store so it seems to make sense for me. However, I'd like a little feedback if you don't mind. Anything that is relevant would be nice :)

I just got it yesterday because I've been planning on buying Trine 2, which is $14.99...and it was available through plus, so I just got a 3 month sub for 17.99...the avatars are crap, the themes are also crap...but the games are pretty decent...most of them are older, like golden axe and altered beast, but they're both great games, although short, golden axe took me like 15 minutes to beat, I remember it being much longer when playing it as a kid...

Several other games such as awesomenauts, rock of ages, pretty new games, I haven't tried them but they look decent...couple PS1 classics, sonic 1 and 2...and probably about 10 more, you can always check the store to see what's available.

I'm actually glad I got it, I don't know if I'll keep the service once my 3 months are up, but considering I wanted Trine 2 anyway and I'll get to play some games over the next few months in my case it was worth it.

Edit: also, theres cloud saving, which is kinda cool I guess, backs up all your files once a day I think, but only if you enable it before playing the game, I don't think it will actually back up any of your older saves, you have to do that manually...but, once the service is up, then you lose access, so I'll just continue to back up via USB...

There are also some decent discounts on DLC, PSN titles and Mini's, and really good discounts on full games, although the list is small...but useless if your like me and prefer physical copies of games.....and there are a handful of full game trials, I think 1 hour trials, probably not worth the wait of the download though.

IMO it's worth it if you want to buy something thats also available through plus if it's somewhere near the price of the service...such as Trine 2.

I've had it since the beginning, it's nothing stellar but it's worth the 50 bucks per year. The cloud storage is in my opinion worth that much by itself. I barely have anytime to play games, so I don't play most of the free games I get; however, I'm planning on playing them some time in the future and some of them are great. The discounts are great, I've bought many games under the discount (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, RE5 Golden Edition, Borderlands GotY Edition and so on) and I love those. I can see it getting better for sure, and I'm happy they're paying more attention to it in this E3.

i would only recommend it if you are a very active gamer/online gamer and if you are always buying/downloading stuff from the store

It's pretty mediocre, all told - I've had it since it came out and while some of the games have been good, I usually just got a lot of stuff I already owned and a (lot) of garbage. Oddly enough I've gotten most of the value from the discounts, as the free games are pretty useless to anyone who actually buys stuff on PSN (which is a bit backwards but hey). A revamp would be nice, as would some free Vita content.

Actually it also works great (maybe works better) if you NEVER buy anything from the store. Because then you just pay $50 and get lots of stuff you don't already have.

If you are someone that occasionally buys things, or even buys regularly, then when PSN+ has it there is probably some overlap. PSN+ would get less exciting if the freebies or deals are on things you already had.

i think its only for the northamerican PSN store but you can always create one.

also if im right, the freebies are yours to keep as long as you are a suscriber

but plz someone try it or answer my question if the offer is for old or new suscribers...or everyone thx

From a day-one subscriber's point of view, I never thought you were always getting as much bang for your buck as you were led to believe. You may technically get $300(ish) worth of content a year but if I was asked to pay a price based on the quality of the content, I wouldn't have offered much more than the annual subscription fee of £40/$60. That said, all told, I do believe Playstation Plus is worthwhile, just because there are some real gems from month to month such as the whole Crash Bandicoot PS collection at one point which ultimately proves PS Plus to be worth the subscription fee. And given the Plus leaders are trying to replace Minis and PS1 classics with full on PS3 titles, I think PS Plus will only become more worthwhile. I would therefore recommend Playstation Plus to the point I will sign up once again when my subscription expires in August. Also the service has been very smooth; the service recognises you're a subscriber and it's really simple just to download the content as if it was just a free demo and you weren't a subscriber. So I can't say I've ever experienced any transaction issues and if you do, you can just re-download the content!
