Is it worth it? I dont buy many things off the Playstation Store, and obviously online play is already free on Playstation 3, so is the Playstation Plus subscription worth it? I was thinking about buying it with taxes, but Im not sure.

Well it's a mixed bag. It's not for me personally. But it does offer good benefits. Reduced prices off games, and occasionally you will be able to download free games.
If you don't spend much money on PSN, then buying it would be a waste. But if you buy a lot of stuff and like the other perks of PS+, then go ahead and get it.

depends on the person. For me I don't care about playing demos(they are not a finished product) and I find all my gaming info on youtube, gamespot, G4 web sites so I already know everything well in advance. Is it worth it? No need to go on. You don't need it. It's a service made for people who play constantly and buy things off PSN all the time....that and fanboys who just pay whatever fee that's ever asked of them. It's a ripoff.

fanboys? really lol..That's one of my biggest reason I have it, lol. Nah, but on the real I don't buy much either but just on getting deals like 50% off RE4 or being able to download things like Marvel Pinball for free--to name a few things--are cool bonus to me. It took me a while before I decided to sign up for Plus because I wanted to make sure it was a value to me. But I can honestly say it's pretty cool to have now, at least for me.I miss the cloud storage, I'm waiting for the right time to go back to having PS+.

fanboys? really lol..Yea, really. The only reasons I can see subscribing to Plus is if you play for several hours every day and aren't very picky about what you play or if you really really like Sony and want to support them...fanboys.
The word isn't always intended as an insult y'know.
While we're on the subject, "entitled" isn't an insult either. As a consumer, you are actually "entitled" to a few things when you pay money for a game. But the over/mis-use of that word seems to be fading away thankfully.

That's a bunch of uninformed drivel right there.Hey, I resent that. I'm just an idiot who pays whatever they ask of me. (I figure I pay for XBL so I don't mind paying for PS+, plus I get to complain about it during its terrible months)No need to go on. You don't need it. Oh, sorry; I didn't mean to exclude all the idiots out there. I know how much they like gamefaq.
But I haven't paid a dime for PS+ and I still complain about how worthless it is.
At least it's optional, that's really the only complement that I can muster.

That's a bunch of uninformed drivel right there. lol thank u. u know how its not always the fanboys. ps+ doesnt have a BiG community, theres only a small margin of ppl on it and thats the ppl who shop a lot and want the benefits, not no fanboys. if thats the case, ps+ would at least have 10mil. ppl who are ps+ cuz if u really want to add fanboys in there , then thats how many i personally think are out there, since theres over 50mil ps3 users, ud think since at least 10mil would be the fanboys, theyd subscribe. im just sayin it was right to say that only ppl who play a lot and fanboys. that just made u sound a jerk. i know a good amount of ppl that arent fanboys and they dont spend a lot of money or time on the store ,and they still get either the eyarly or the 3 months deal, cuz they see the value, they see theres something on sale and its a good month or two for ps+ so they subscribe. ur comments are just biased.[QUOTE="Cyanide4Suicid3"]

It's not a ripoff. I get free games. I download a lot of psn games. I get huge discounts on them. I get 2 year warranty, cloud storage and early access to betas. Without PSN+ I would have easily spent over $500 on the PSN store. I saved over 75% by using it. It's only $50 a year I think. To put that in perspective my cable, internet and tv bill is about $180 a month total. I'm not a fanboy either. I would cancel if online play was charged though. I already pay for internet. I'm not paying more to play a game online.same here. that's the only reason why i want to renewI miss the cloud storage, I'm waiting for the right time to go back to having PS+.

It would be a ripoff for OP who doesn't buy many things off psn or me, who rents and thus hardly ever even looks at the psn store.
Access to early Betas and hour long trials of a whole game are good, demo's don't normally cut it for me i want something more substantial when trying a game. JohnF111
Are Betas really more substantial? I'd rather have a demo because you get a better idea of what the devs want the game to be.
I don't like this new fad of Betas being some sort of reward or bonus. Beta testing is a job, in fact (not too long ago) people used to get paid for Beta testing, so it's really weird to see people doing the opposite. But the reason that it's a job is because you're not just supposed to be having fun, you're supposed to be stress tesing and essentially trying to break (and find broken parts of) the game.
It's probably one of the reasons games are so much more buggy now: rather than getting feedback from employees, they're getting feedback from the fans who (if you can't tell from looking at these forums) try to avoid being critical of their favorite studios...even if it's for everyones own good. Just look at the Skyrim forums, you'll see tons of people saying, "oh yea, it crashed a few times. But I don't see any big issues."
