Sorry if this has been asked before! Still slightly new to these forums ... I was thinking of buying the 60gig with backward compatiablity... But I heard... You cannot save progress on the PS3 when playing PS2 games...? Is this true? No slot for a memory card? o.oThere is a $14.99 memory card converter that puts your ps2 and ps1 (if you have one) memory card saves onto the harddrive. And you can save internally through the system. Luckilly my friend bought this (I had no idea it was even out) and I just used his! Once you use it once to add your cards internally, its useless. I saved $15!
Thanks! So sorry if it's a noob question xDiAkuma
what?? so you cant save ps2 games on the ps3 harddrive?? i dont have a ps2 so i dont need to transfer saves. but i was definitely getting mgs2 and mgs3 for ps2, so does that mean i have to get a memory card and the converter in order to save ps2 games on ps3?Screamin_EaGLesThats a good question but Im pretty sure if you buy a new PS2 game itll just automatically save to the PS3's harddrive. But I cant confirm this yet.
I don't need any kind of adaptor or anything, I just click the PS button than assign slots which is just like a virtual memory card that uses the memory from your HDD.wallpaper42You only need the adapter if you want to transfer saves from a PS2 or PS1 memory card ONTO the PS3 itself.

You do not need the memory card adapter to save PS1/2 games. You can save it directly to the hard drive by making a virtual memory card. The adapter is needed to transfer saves from the PS2 to PS3 or vice versa. You only need it if you had a PS2 and want to transfer saves over.
