Please explain MGS

Bought the MGS HD Collection today. Can someone please explain the story? I don't know anything except that Snake is a clone and Raiden is a cyborg. Don't spoil anything, but I would appreciate an overview.

The HD collection doesn't include the first game, and I would really suggest playing it first. That would be easier than trying to explain everything.

mgs 1 usually pops up in psn sales for half price. even at full price its still worth buying. best way to find out story

also raiden isnt a cyborg yet in mgs 2 so dont be dissapointed when he has real body parts

if youre worried about understanding the story, the absolute best way to experience it is to just play the games in numerical order. you can download the first MGS on psn for cheap.

otherwise, the wiki somebody linked is there and i think konami still has a MGS database on psn.

Might be good to check out the cutscenes to get a good feeling on how the stroy goes. I have most of the story except MG and MG2 here.
