I just got COD:MW2 and, needless to say, I was excited to play it online. When I get it home though, I find that I am unable to play ANY games online. I am able to download updates, DLC, use the Web Browser, even play Street Fighter 4 online, but MW2 isn't cooperating. I have setup port forwarding on all appropriate ports (TCP: 80, 443 Both: 5223 UDP 3478-3479, 3658 ), have set my IP as either 192.168.1.108 or 192.168.1.250 on recommendation, and have experimented with UPnP as well as with a DMZ. In doing so, I always get the same results with my connection test;
Obtain IP Address: Succeeded
Internet Connection: Succeeded
Playstation Network: Succeeded
UPnP: Available/Unavailable (Depending on whether I have it on or not)
NAT Type: Failed
Also, I noted that MW2 claims that my NAT type is 'Strict', and I believe that is where the stem of the problem lies. I can see the server population and I can see the active games available, but when I try to join a game it simply doesn't make any progress past 0.00%. My router is Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Router, and I have satellite internet. I have heard from some people that satellite internet does not support console gaming though my bandwidth is greater than that of many cable users that have no problem playing online on their console.
