or a monitor... i dont want to spend more than $400-500. i just got a ps3 a couple of weeks ago and i have to play it on a crappy sdtv. really need your help. thanks

Well vizio is a budget brand and is for people that are looking for the price range similar to you, why dont you try looking at those? Link Most of these tvs can display upto 1080i which good for less than 500.

Here are some quite nice ones

Samsung 30inch widescreen Slimfit HD tv's have full 1080i, 2 HDMI ports, optical audio out that I have connected to my stereo. I found it on sale at Samsclub down from $833 for $512 total tax and a 3 year service plan included. Here's a link to the one I have.
