ooh, that might be a little too slow, i know that some people can get by with that speed, i have no problem at my 512, but i wouldn't know about that. Sorry i couldnt be of much help.
i did a lil research (its 4 in the morning and yes i have nothing better to do :P) and there are people who play with a 56k, so you should be fine. i would strongly suggest you upgrade your ISP if you plan to do alot of playing online though.

Yes you can play online enabled ps2 games online on ps3. The only thing to watch out for is that if you haven't played them in a while, sony might have shut down the online portion of that game, like the online for MGS 3: Subsistence was shut down. Also, as for connection, I know you need an ethernet broadband connection i.e cable or dsl to play online. If your connection is one of those, you should be fine although at 128 kbps you might lag quite a bit.
