I like the acheivement system too. It gives me a reason to play the game a 2nd time around but at a more difficult setting.

I believe Sony has "accomplishments" which will award you with trophies to display in PS HOME. I'm not sure if they will have any type of "gamerscore" though.

Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think games should make you want to play them until your bored with them, not until you reach some odd point goal.

I played oblivion for 160 hrs, I think that's enough man!

Sony said in a video interview during the "Bonus Round" with GameTrailers, that they were going to have a point-type system but would not elaborate.

Once again there's eclipsed, beating me to posting the facts.
Nice work. :)

So by your logic, you wouldn't mind playing a game that had no ending. It would just keep going until you got bored??

Isn't beating a game the same as some "odd point goal"?

Take GH2 on the 360 for example. I'm a novice to rhythm games, but I completed the career mode in medium. I couldn't complete 1 song on the "hard" level and was getting pretty "bored" with trying, but did I quit?? Nope. I went back and attempted to get the acheivement for completing all songs in Medium w/ 5 stars.

I'll be completely honest with the two of you. I just finished watching that "Bonus Round" episode with the PSN Online developer guy and he did in fact say that Sony would have a "gamer score" in the future. He also said that it won't happen in the next update so.... darn have to wait for 2.0 I guess.
