Yea, ps3 owners paid an extra $100  to wait.  Why would they be mad if the price drop.

I'd be ecstatic... because more players translates into more and better games, not to mention the obvious of more people to play games with online.

Where I would be mad is if they ended up selling something with upgraded hardware for more money in response to, but still not measuring up to the competition's superior hardware ;)

In Canada, price has raise up 40$ since launch (from 660 CAD to 700 CAD). If I'm angry at anything it's because I didn't buy one while it was cheaper.Halukard

If the Ps3 had a price drop, nothing would stop me from buying one.  Plus, it would make MS look like a bunch of idiots; unless they have a price drop as well.  But, the Ps3 probably won't have a price drop; you have Blue ray and tons of other features all shoved into one box for 500$, it would make Sony lose lots of money.  However, if Sony did do this, then I would love them to death; I want a Ps3, but I can't afford one right now with the price it's at.  A 100$ price drop would help a lot though.

Nevertheless, the Ps3 is an all around great console, but if it had a price drop I guarantee every consumer would shift their wallets toward the Ps3, rather then the Wii or 360. 

It would be very cool if Sony did this, but I highly doubt it will happen anytime soon.

not to be beating a dead horse here, but a price drop is expected and a good thing for the PS3.  How many people do you know or have seen on here crying about the price of the PS3?  Maybe that would coax them into buying one.  Now if Sony comes out with a better model PS3 then I'll be a little aggravated, but that's the price you pay for buying a console at launch.  I'm perfectly happy with my PS3 right now and depending on what they do with it to make it better will depend on how much bigger a Sony backlash will be.
