the other post from earlier that said this was sad news should have said good news. i think this is excellent. and im positive that they have plan to make sure not every jo shmo is charging for their games and ripping people off. you probably have to get a crap load of hits on your custom level before you're allowed to charge for it. and lets say they charge 50 cent a piece, thats still very profitable. it would be just as cool if it was fake in game currency too
Despite the fact that it would only be select content of the highest quality, I still don't like the idea, I can't be bothered to go into detail, I just don't like the idea.

So, not everyone can charge money?
Exactly. ^^^ I think the people, especially the ones who say this ruined the game for them think that everyone will be able to charge for their content, good or not. For all we know, this may only be for the top 100 creators in the game and, with all the hype LBP has gotten, there will be millions of players in the first few weeks. This announcement has not put me off to LBP at all.
You know what? Even if a level I made was amongst the best, I still wouldn't want people paying for my levels. It's not my game and that's all there is to it. The purpose of the game is to create levels pretty much and generate a community from it. Why should someone have to pay for a level that some random guy created?
I'm all for it. Its giving me a motive to actually make the best levels I can. If I made a great level I would want people to appreciate it. And besides the maybe some virtual five stars which is basically a pat on the back that people would give I would just be uploading it and that would be it. Once I get to charge for the level and people actually buy would really show that it is appreciated and again gives me a reason to make another one.
