Just wondering what people think, me particularly prefer guitar hero. :Dabarua
It more or less depends on when you joined the band rhythm experience. If you invest in DLC, Rock Band 2 is by far the better choice. If you owned Rock Band 1, Rock Band 2 is by far the better choice. If you owned Rock Band 1 and bought DLC, Rock Band 2 is by far the better choice. GHWT has a couple of good qualities to it, but the lackluster visuals, the (from what I've noticed) lacking DLC that I would actually want, to a drum fill system I absolutely hate due to the (in my opinion) horrible drum fill sounds... I'd have to go with Rock Band 2. Call me biased due to my opening statement, but I have invested in the DLC so there's no point for me to get GHWT. While there are a few on-disc tracks I would love to get my hands on (Tool mainly... along with Rebel Yell), I simply can't justify it since it seems inferior in every regard to me. Neversoft has seemingly stuck their tracks to a select few exclusive bands instead of having a variety (Albeit, I don't like ALL the variety since everyone picks the same stuff anyway... but it's nice to have). The Guitar Touch Strip gimmick really choked me though in terms of marketting... I just can't justify getting it after that stupid stunt by neversoft who has run two franchises headfirst into the ground. I'm about to go to bed so I'm really tired and brain can't function properly so I'm really garbled when speaking... but I also don't like GHWT because as I said... the visuals. I often have parties of gaming and when people pick up Rock Band 2... the audience also enjoys it. Not only because they can watch the people 100% (or get good scores) on the sons, the game looks interesting and visually pleasing to the audience... GHWT seems really static to me.
I did get both games.. but only because i got a great deal GHWT... for 40$ for the game and a guitar.. i really couldnt pass it up.. after playing both, i do like rockband2 better... maybe as Rogan said, and its because i started with Rockband 1 a year ago.. but i love the cleaner interface of RB2.. what i like even more is that both companys finally made all the equipment interchangeable.. now i dont have to choose...
