most of the gamers here will say no but when the hype start and the trailers start rolling most of them are going to subscribe
just look at MW2 DLC
The only way I would pay for it would be if it met this set of criteria: 1. The game itself cost less (approx. $40) and included 3 months of online 2. The online subscription was supported with patches, free maps, new guns and dedicated servers 3. The online cost around $10-15 a month it would take these 3 things for me to actually consider paying for CoD online...Laser_Hunter
First off "$10-15 a month" is way too much. Second, I ask because in a recent interview Activision said they are and were thinking about charging subscription fees.

first off the price was based on IW and Activision providing monthly updates with patches, new maps and new guns every month as well as dedicated servers. This sort of service would actually make it worthwhile to pay for you would get a game with monthly expansions that would be constantly evolving... it seems reasonable for 10 dollars to get this kind of support especially if the game itself costs around 40 dollars again my requirements are just pure speculation...[QUOTE="P-vs-P"][QUOTE="Laser_Hunter"]The only way I would pay for it would be if it met this set of criteria: 1. You're looking at $120-180 a year plus the purchase price... I don't they'll realease that many maps or guns to replace that much money... $200 for game? Not even

uhh according to my calculations with the game price ($40) + the $10/month for 9 months(3 months subscription included with game)= $130 for the year currently we are getting 2 map packs over a 1 year term for $15 each + $60 for the game= $90 so even if IW only released 4 new maps every other month with weapons in the remaining months you still spend get what would be basically around the same price if you were to buy as you wished from map packs but would also be getting patches (ZOMG, a patch for OMA? lol), new weapons and dedicated servers. Granted it should realistically be around $5-10 a month but Activision aren't exactly known for caring about their customers wallets so that is why i gave the hgher rate at the startI imagine what will happen is a small group of players will pay for one, along with the vast majority of under 12's who live off their parents' wallet and have no respect for thee value of money and whatnot.
For me this is a big no. As much as I enjoy playing MW2, even though I hate it, I would definitely not pay for a subscription. There are plenty other shooters that are just as good and better.
Even if they did add new maps and stuff along with the subscription, it'd still probably be overpriced. $30 for 4 maps (thats NZ$ by the way, so $15 for you US folk isn't it?) is way overpriced. 4 maps does not bring $30 worth of enjoyment. I can buy a decent game secondhand for that.

This is Activision we are talking about....
