PoP: The Forgotton Sands?

I've only played Prince of Persia (2008 ) which is an awesome game, and I want to buy The Forgotton Sands but I'm not sure seeing as I've never played the PS2 titles before. Do I need to or can I get just this game?

no reason why you wouldn't like it, people say it will be more like the old ones, so maybe the platforming will be harder, and there'll be more fights against many enemies, but you'll have many elemental powers to get rid of enemies and can dodge very easily, and the platforming should be easy after the first few hours when you know the controls well

This game has the best platforming system I have ever seen. The acrobatics combined with the magic powers give a perfect experience. It's way better than POP 2008... But I have to admit that the battle system completely sucks.

So it isn't like a direct sequal to The Sands of Time?

Rent it if you must . Horribly easy combat . You'll blow right through it .

reading the reviews, seems like the gameplay is not well balanced : too siimple combat and often too hard platforming
