Does anyone know how to forward ports, or open them? I cant connect to games online for Battlefield Bad Company and I think that this my be the reason why...
On your Pc: go to START , RUN, and put CMD A black screen will show up: Write ipconfig and press ENTER, Then you will get to see some important numbers (ip, mask, and ip default router) Well right down the ip default, for example mine is 192.168.1.1 (maybe its not called ip default router , its because im from spain and i have a spanish computer) After you write the number down, go to your internet explorer And in the navigation box put the number, for example mine is 192.168.1.1 and press enter. It will ask you for your user and password for your router, you sould have them and click acept. (Some routers just use form user: admin and for pass: admin but im no sure if yours will, look it up on google.)
Once your on the control panel of your router search for NAT - sua only or ports just look for it. Once you are in the ports menu look for the option all ports in there you can put the IP DIRRECTION of your ps3 (to see the ip adress from your ps3 go to your ps3 and go to settings, network, list from mi connection or something like that) when you have putted in your PS3 IP in the ALL PORTS field save it. If your router cant do the ALL PORTS option, just tipe the specific ports for the ps3 i dont know them right now but you can search it up. If this is to difficult you can look if your router has the DMZ mode, this is to open up all ports easely for a specific system (your ps3). On my router theres a mode called UPND and it opens all ports for each system =) i hope i helped you man, see you around
Thanks for your help everyone. I have a Netgear WPS WNR3500 router, I had to set up the DMZ server and disable the SPI firewall to get in games for BF:BC. I don't know how secure that is for my network as a whole, Im not sure how the SPI firewall works, but it works now.

I don't think that you need to disable the firewall, since the DMZ is actually outside the firewall.
i have done the DMZ for my ps3 and open all the ports and i still struggle to play online what more do i have to do i have got ****** n150 i dont know what to do know
