hi all, i recently had my ps3 laser housing refitted due to the other one being knackered. when i got it back from the shop, my tv will not recognise the console. i dont have a hdmi telly. im using a scart socket adapter thingy-ma-jig. i have tried all 4 scart ports and it wont recognise any of them. when the guy tested the console he used a hdmi cable on his telly. would it be possible that by him doing that, that could of possibly knocked my scart sockets settings out? any advice would be gratefully received

I believe your assumption to be correct. Because your PS3 was last hooked up with an HDMI cable, it is trying to display through that input setting. You will have to do a video settings reset. You can search youtube videos on how to do it. It is easy. I could be wrong, but I think this is your problem.

When your PS3 is off turn it on and hold your finger on the power sensor till you hear a second beep. Then let go and it should reset your video good as new. Hopefully that fixes it.

Scart is UK standard? So maybe a repair to the connector is needed? Or your PS3 is about to "die" if you have a launch model. Then it may be time for a new PS3.
