same here all they say is that it's shallow as heck but everything else (actually some key stuff like; graphics, gameplay, sound) r top notch 2 say the least especially graphics so let the 360 fanboys toot their horns cuz we have a good argument right back at them
wow, ANOTHER motorstorm thread, it got a good score. 8.4 is the press average, GS's wasn't much lower. Go buy it, play it and have fun. Stop clogging up the forums.

Dude 7.9 is a good score. It does not mean the game is bad.
Count me in. I stopped respecting the reviews here about 3 months ago. Don't care to listen to someone who has enough time to write only one page about a game then use a jacked up formula to create a stupid score.
That's kinda what the point of reviews are, they're supposed to be the opinions of people who supposedly know what they;re talking about. In this case I fear they're really stretching their credibility.
They say up and down how much they want online multiplayer in a game that works better as offline multiplayer light fighting games and then say how the bad thing about this game is that it HAS online multiplayer rather than a multiplayer mode wouldnt be as good in this case.
Fighting games have plaenty of room for two people, it's the nature of the beast, Racing games force you to cut down your view for two players to share the screen. Why cant they understand this?
of course imma buy it after seeing GS' rating of R:FoM for PS3 and LoZ:TP for Wii I dont listen to GS scores and ive played the ***. version of the game and it was incredible and with online it will be even better also IGN gave it 8.9
I was pretty much onboard since E3 2005, lol. I wont be picking it up launch day though. I am at the halfway point of Dragon Quest VIII and then God of War 2 will be out by the time I finish it, so no real point picking it up til later this month, I have never been able to play more than one game at a time.

I am going to rent first from gamefly and keep it for 3 weeks. By then I will know if I should keep it and pay the difference or return it. I have used this process now since jan because there are so many games out or coming that might not deserve a purchase.
Same amount that was gonna buy it before the 7.9 score came out. The only score that should matter is what you would rate it, as in how well you like it. Why anyone cares what scores any game on any system get's is beyond me. If I want a game & it scores a 2.1 I would still get it because the reviewer is not me & does not speak for me. I have never looked ata games rating as a basis for buying it, I didn't think anybody even cared about the scores until this crap with PS3 scores started up. I just don't get why this is important.

This just shows great progress and its obvious on this they were worried about gameplay, graphics and online. They delievered on that and next title out will definately improve upon the single player. Although I think they went harsh on it because Halo 2 had a less then stellar single player, but its online, gameplay, and graphics is what makes still worth playing even today. I think they just went harsh on it because it's part of PS3's launch year and it's a new series so I guess it won't gain a respect bonus on review scoring like Halo did. But probably going to buy it, but God of War II is still coming out so I dunno.
Yea.... I stopped reading reviews on GS when Kameo scored above a 5. I play the demo enough to justify the purchase, because I know updates will come out on PSN.

I know man for realz. Freakin lemmings!!!! 7.9 aint nothin at all and is still a good rate. I had so much fun with the demo and it was only with two vehicles and one map. Damm this time im going to have 8 maps and more vehicles? Wow im all over it!!!! Also if GS is that bad and if its on MS bandwagon then why are you even posting in these forums. You acting like this is the only place on the internet. But if you leave because of that i know for sure you be back here just to see what is REALLY going on..hahahahaha
Anyone who doesn't buy a game because of a score on an internet site is an idiot. This game is awesome and you should make your own decision by renting it if you are unsure.
Hell yes I will be buying it, but I'm beginning to believe that the Blu-Ray disc sign on PS3 games is nothing but a pretty sticker. What is the space being utilized for? How can a developer with 50gb of space to play with create a game with nothing but straight up races and 8 tracks? I'm just kind of worried those tracks are going to get old, when people find the exploits online.
7.9 is still a good score, and its not gonna be exactly what you wanted it to be. like i think it deserves at least a 8.1 or .2, but big deal, would pretty much be the same thing. the maps dont disappoint me much as other next-gen games have released with few maps. but for a racing game they should have more.
i'll be playing it when i pick it up wednesday, and graw 2 :)
While 7 and up isbetter than a 5 the problem is a lot of people see 7 as being the "mediocre" score. anything in that range may or may not be good to them and some wont even pick it up under 8 so yes reviews matter because it's the way the average joe chooses his games a lot of times without even reading the review.
Yes i'm still getting it, i have it on pre-order for the euro launch and that isn't going change it's got some good reviews and i'm sure there will be downloads to improve things like more tracks more cars etc, not bad for a launch title, Well in Europe it is.

For your PS3 fanboys out there who thinks the world is out to get them---get over it! Since when did a rating stop people from buying a game? IF it ever did, you've got to be the biggest idiot in the world. The score is just a review, a guideline of what one person thinks and feels---it's not the bible, so calm down. If you played the demo and liked it, then that's all you need to know. Do you guys react the same way to every single critic out there? Grow up.

I have it paid in full and will be picking it up this morning. There is no way that I would take someone elses judgement on a game especially someone at GS, they should can that guy. :P
