So I was playing Resistance 2...all of the sudden..the controls weren't working? They just stopped. So I plug and play. It works. I disconnect, it doesn't work. Hmph..I think I'll restart my PS3. I start it, red lights flash. Try it again...

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*...Yellow light...

I panicked. Switched it off from back, waited. Hit it on again. It worked.

..I am tired of this. Close call. I'm about to contact stupid Sony.

You guise know I'm in my refurbished one too. I spent $150 to get it fixed, and my warranty started in late May, its about a week from done. So if this one gets destroyed, its another $150 into their wallets. I spent that money to get my PS3 fixed..not the same problem. But I'm not sure if its just overheated and it needed a break or not.

Erm my suggestion honestly? Break it as fast as you can, tape up anywhere that air can come in, have it on all the time stuff like that

Then just send it to Sony as fast as you can. Myb you can still hit the deadline ;)

Yeah it's only a potential, it's probably a warning sign or something, I don't know. It wouldn't start up, and its a Yellow light, which killed my other PS3.

Just buy a new HDD, for $80 you can get a decent HDD that has even more room than what you have now. Try newegg.com or tigerdirect.com they give great deals

well the HDD doesnt break because its full. Its sensetive to just about anything and can breack down for many reasons. If the HDD is the problem and you alredy saw the yellow light it would be much cheaper to just buy a new HDD than to have sony fix it.

I'm not really sure, I've heard about it being a problem and people fixing it, but that's just me. I have no idea.

I heard from many people that YLoD is either HDD failure or power failure I'm not even sure anymore

I'm guessing it's the power for my situation. It's been playing for 7-8 hours straight. Not by me though, I had people over playing. Maybe it just needed a break.
