First and foremost, the graphics were amazing. The tears, the curtains blowing in the breeze, the lighting effects from the lightning outside, all amazing! The music was great too.

So, with that said, is this a game? or just a tech demo showing off a graphics engine or something?

yeah i've seen those videos already they look awesome very realistic, hope the game will be great.

Yes these are the IN GAME graphics.I heard somewhere earlier that they are improving them.Why not check it out in the search box the games name is Heavy Rain and its exclusive for the PS3.:)

At one point i thought i was REAL! the mouth movements are a bit off but neverless it looks really cool-Hoax-

the game is not a real time game. its more of a movie with press X to do this at that time. but it does look good.gagit811

No havent heard of it.I am waiting for FC2,LBP and this.I have always loved games where you make your decisions and create your own things.GTA IV was good too !

Crysis has some amazing looking stuff as well :\ if not better looking. MGS4 looks just as good as well in the fully rendered scenes on the mission briefings. And i dont think the polygon count was that high, they never even moved anything which means for all we know they only have to render half of everything. And the woman herself looked crisp not realistic. Id say for that i would have to pick HL2 .... alex looks so much better than this ... thing. Sorry, but i just dont see whats so flippin awesome about this.

that scene looks better imo and crysis was a big letdown. (and most computers wont stutter on that video ... dont know why this guys did, he had a good enough one)

Id post MGS4 vids but i dont think its necessary.

This would be perfect if they could actually fix the lip-synching..

the PS3 is powerful, espcially with how the CELL and RSX communicate. I personally think its the most powerful for this gen, aside a PC of course. ITs just that I have read its hard to work with the development kits to get this to work to its fullest potential.

Its just he kits are expensive and are not as user friendly has the 360 or Wii for making games. It also doesnt help consoles that they only have 512mb or DDR3 ram. I know theyre dedicated to gaming, so its a bit different than a PC, that runs many applications and things at once. But 1gb of DDR3 should have been implemented. Thsi would have gotten Crysis on the console.

Heavy Rain will be awesome, Im very excited to see teh emotions and so on. Those tears look insane.

If you want to see what type of game this will be go play Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain is made by the same people but HR started out as a tec demo. Heavy Rain will be a movie first, a game second, this will be what they wanted to do with Indigo but didnt have the hardware to do it.

Indigo had a very good story but later in the game it started to fall apart, the gameplay was rhythm timed button presses or certain analog movement, mixed with button mashing at times. Read the review if you have not played the game and want to know more about the direction HR is heading.

STOP IT with this power of the PS3...blah blah blah. Heavy Rain looks good but its still scripted, MGS 4 looks good too and when it goes cinematic you get the same graphics if not better and with that being said XBOX 360'S MASS EFFECT does it just as good if not better.

So stop with all the HYPE because this is what causes games to fail, because it or no game can live up to every body's hype, GTA 4 is a example people thought it would be the 2nd coming of Jesus and it delivered but people still wasn't happy.

Far Cry 2 is downgraded for the consoles. And Crysis is run on a HORRIBLY inefficient engine. Crytek themselves say Crysis can't be done on consoles.pyromaniac223

Well I dont think its down graded.Can you please be more specific.I heard earlier in some interview that only the resolution was decreased.Heres an interview that i found earlier.

They used our data to push themselves then one day they came to us and said you've really got to see this and we saw what they'd accomplished and we thought, man, it's running, it works.

IF will be a Ps3 only game, we will see astounding graphic and physic ...

IF it is another, multyplatform game, we will see another boring xbox/pc graphic ...

After watching Farcry 2 video the graphics do seem pretty impressive, but honsetly anyone who thinks it looks better then Crysis needs to get their eyes checked. The ammount of stuff on screen vs farcry isn't even comparable. Farcry also has a dull brown color scheme which will actually make things better then how they really look similar to games like KZ2 and Gears. It will be a good looking game but overall the visuals aren't comparable.bigblunt537

It has been confirmed by devs that Dunia engine is using ALL that Cryengine 2 was using.And there are even more things added to it.Example:Growing vegetation,day night cycles,big square miles of land fully accesible,advance AI(The enemy actually goes to have lunch...etc..etc..),repair broken vehicles,heal your self,fully destructable enviroments(not just TREES but also buildings,leaves...etc..etc),fire propagation,leaves fully dynamic,leaves react to fire/air/water/weather and everything else in the world,Procedural skies,Dynamic weather system(That means everything will react to the weather),Dynamic light and shadows(btw did crysis have dynamic shadows ? i think it was soft shadowing)....Ofcourse the other features which crysis was showing of when it came out,features like depth of field,DX10 water effects,motion blurr...etc..etc...Are all not only added to the game but look alot more imrpoved from the videos.

I loved Indigo and will pick this game up on day one, but I will not act like it's more than a interactive cut scene, HR is more of a movie than a game, you play IP or HR for the story not the gameplay so dont expect to see a lot of it.

As far as them saying PS3 gave us the power, all Devs say things like that when their game is exclusive, how many times have you heard similar things about the 360. I have not seen any game on PS3 or 360 that couldnt be on both consoles.

Wow. A game getting hyped just because it has awesome graphics. We haven't seen the gameplay yet.

I honestly think that Heavy Rain will be boring because it's too realitistic. A combination of realistic graphics and realistic gameplay is boring.

I hope that the devs would sprinkle some unrealistic things in the gameplay.
