in a couple of days i'll be getting an american ps3 but the thing is that I live in mainland europe. i was wondering if anybody could please tell me what sort of electric adapter/converter i would need for it. for my ps2 i need a massive brick-like converter but for my laptop, for example, no matter where in the world i go all i need is a small white adapter to change the plug, due to the external power supply i believe. do ps3s have power bricks like the 360 or is it all internal? i think in that case i would simply have to use my stupid brick-like converter but since i don't want to explode my ps3 (like i foolishly did my genesis more than a decade ago) i'd rather not take any risks. any sort of clarifications would be greatly appreciated.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3_hardware

The console has a universal power unit built in which makes a 120 V PlayStation 3 suitable in a 240 V region. The power supply can operate on both 60 Hz and 50 Hz power grids. It uses a standard C14 IEC connector and a C13 power cord appropriate for the region being used in. Some consoles, however, read 220v~240v 1.8a which are not universal. The power supply is capable of delivering approximately 380W, although the PS3 has never been measured using this much power. The new Japanese PS3s have a 100V power supply instead of a universal one.

Looks like it might work, might not. Just make sure that if you get one you check to see if it's universal or not(should be a sticker on the back). If it doesn't work then you are going to have to get one of these down converters. There are probably cheaper ones out there but I just found this one real quick.
