Every other site will range from 9.1 to 9.5. However, gamespot will give it no higher than an 8.5.Â
Even though the game is mind blowingly amazing, addicting as hell, and one of the most fun games that we will have all played in a long time...gamespot will find one fault with it and blow it way out of proportion--thereby lowering the score.
Well, I'd love to say 9.0 or better, cuz it looks like it's shaping up to be but...
given GS's track record since the PS3 launch, something tells me they're gonna give it between 7.5 and 8.5.
I'm calling it:
8.3-8.6
The game lacks offline multiplayer (which is a really stupid design decision, seeing as how pretty much every game in the genre has it) and it will likely be reviewed by Jeff Gerstmann.

best not be Jeff....please God....imagine if Jeff reviews MGS4.....march to gamespot with flaming torches
you mean given *ps3's* record since the ps3 launch. not gamespot's fault that there isn't a MUST HAVE game out yet.Well, I'd love to say 9.0 or better, cuz it looks like it's shaping up to be but...

I'm pretty certain that it will be him, because it used to be Greg Kasavin who reviewed most of the hyped-up games, and the MGS games, and despite the fact that oftentimes, I didn't agree with Greg, I still have more respect for his reviews than for Jeff's.
Now with Greg gone, Jeff seems to have usurped the right to review many of the more anticipated games.
The VF5 review didn't really help improve my feelings towards him, either.

So I'm guessing the fact that both Resistance and Virtua Fighter have been praised by pretty much every single other source has no bearing in this arguement?
Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have bought MGS3 or Twilight Princess either, when they first came out, considering the fact that they didn't get a 9.0 here. :\
Please, simply because Gamespot didn't give any PS3 games a 9.0 yet doesn't mean that there aren't any "must have" games out there.
flOw got a 7.1 yet it's number one pick since it came out and even topped Halo 3 on the overall list lol when will they learn?Every other site will range from 9.1 to 9.5. However, gamespot will give it no higher than an 8.5.Â

From playing the import I would say from 8 to 8.5 would be reasonable. With the addition of online in US it will be more like a 9. Gamespot will give it a 7.5.
Im glad to see everyone here knows about the douche bag reviews. I read the reviews just to find out info, but I never look at the number score and take it seriously.
Just cause people rate games professionally doesn't mean they're not fanboys.
