ps3 was worth the original price. i have never been dissapointed with it.ShadowBass989yeah i bought it at the original price too, its expensive, but not overpriced. but still expensive.
I predict that your prediction of the predicted price of the predicted ps3 model will not match what many of us predicted, however, i also predict that the predicted price will be something unpredicted, and hopefully, it will bring the predicted price cut that so many analysts have predicted. If the price is indeed within your predicted range, which many may predict that it will be, I will predict that the ps3 will be facing an unpredicted trouble that will make analysts predict that ps3 isn't going to do the so-called predicted comeback, which will ruin all ours hopes of predicting about anything, making any prediction predictedly useless.funsohng'predictedly' isnt a word. so close though.
once again, a slim ps3 will have a built in blu ray drive. if it doesnt. i repeat if it doesnt what would be the point. it wouldnt b able to play ps3 games.I hope its like 200 bucks for the system. But you have to buy a controller for 54, a bluray drive for 100, ethernet adapter for 45 and buy your own hard drive.

All of those things come with a Ps3. If you buy an extra controller and pay $54, you don't shop amazon.I hope its like 200 bucks for the system. But you have to buy a controller for 54, a bluray drive for 100, ethernet adapter for 45 and buy your own hard drive.

Did you buy from ebay or something?
nope, walmart. i got a 2 year warranty for like $60 or $70. if i bought an original 60GB from ebay, it would had to have been at least $1500 at the time, lol.ShadowBass989Ya, seriously lol. I was just curious why it cost you %700 instead of $600, but you just said why!
Sony isn't stupid. After 60+ years of being in this industry they know how to turn a system around by slimming it down and dropping $50-$100 off the price tag. They will no doubt win fans over this holiday season perhaps with a PS3 Slim+GT5 bundle. I don't see why they wouldn't with their manufacturing costs down 70% since 2006, which is I don't know if you noticed almost 4 years ago now. They can fit everything and more the PS3 currently has.
im sure pricing on ps3 wont be a steep price cut but ill hope atleast `100 dollars then more people will be inclined to go to ps3 rather then the 360
i dont see why they should make the slim more expensive if any thing the should make it about $100 cheaper

I would find that very humorous. They would have to include a Blu ray drive though. Unfortunately I think next gen Sony will partition their console instead of making it a complete package. People have a hard time getting past the initial sticker price and for whatever reason prefer to buy things piece by piece.I hope its like 200 bucks for the system. But you have to buy a controller for 54, a bluray drive for 100, ethernet adapter for 45 and buy your own hard drive.

My prediction:
-current 80gb PS3 will be lowered for clearance in the coming weeks to $299.99, possibly with pack-ins
-Official announcement of the 120gb slim (core)to come soon afterwards, priced at $349.99-$369.99, withAug/Sept USrelease, to be reduced further in time for the holidays.
-If released later during the holiday season (Oct/Nov), it will be launched directly at the $299.99-$329.99 price point
This is also just a prediction. Flamers flame below :)
i agree with motherboop, but i also think.........
the 160gb uncharted bundle will be lowered to 399 till sold out,
current 80 gb will be 299 till sold out,
then the ps3 slim will launch on oct 13 to coincide with uncharted 2 launch,
price will be 350 - 375 and once the holiday season is over it will drop to 299 to go with launch of GOW3 or final fantasy.

Sony never learned. I remember my Ps2 was damn expensive. Maybe 500 I think?
Most PSPs dont come with a memory stick. Just the PSP, the charger adn there you go, it costs 170, or 200 with a small plastic memory stick. They added 16GBs and Bluetooth built into the new PSP, thats why its the extra 50 bucks. They wont raise the price for the PS3 slim becuase:
A.) EVERYONE is complaining about the price, companies too, raising the price would add to this
B.) Its VERY doubtful they would add features requiring a price hike.
Hahah...no. Sony always thinks that they are a "premium" brand and that they can charge more just because. A Sony exec said that alhough the PSP Go was cheaper to make (smaller, less plastic, no umd drive, smaller screen, etc) it cost more because it was a new product or just because. I'm not anti-Sony, don't get me wrong, I bought the 60GB PS3 for $599 and PSP 1000 for $250, but I've been disappointed with Sony this gen. They have been too cocky this gen, they thought that they didn't have to work hard or secure major exclusives right away. I hope the PS3 slim is $299 or even less but I don't know.Sony isn't stupid. After 60+ years of being in this industry they know how to turn a system around by slimming it down and dropping $50-$100 off the price tag.
