They dont let you preorder games if your underage anymore? I was trying to pre-order Socom and they say that you have to be 17 or older to preorder. I thought any person of any age can preorder as long as an adult picks it up. Is this a new policy or just BS?

It's not illegal for me to play the game.Only illegal to store if they sell it to me without an adult. Preorder sells me nothing, Except the beta code lol
I'm TRYING to be a Gamestop employee... but I'm 17 so I don't need to have an adult so it doesn't affect me. But I might say that since you can pay off the entirety of the game, you could be TECHNICALLY buying the game, in which case you'd need an adult. But just get a parent to go with you... not that hard.

I am an ex GameStop employee. As far as reserves go, we did card people for preorders on M rated games. This may vary store to store, but this policy never made sense to me anyway since we were going to card you anyway when it came time for you to pick the game up.

What do they do differently? Your GameStop seems to have given out the codes already, while my GameStop doesn't have any, and want me to call at the end of the month.
now days I get carded more buying video games than I do buying alcohol.
Anyway it seems like a case by case basis. I'm sure plenty of kids suckered their parents into picking up M-rated games for them by pre-ordering it, and making a big fuss.
