$60?  Try living in Australia where the cost of PS3 games is USD$85-$100.

Why do people think the price of gaming has increased? For christ's sake, Nintendo 64 games were $50.

oh thank god someone other than myself remembers the days of $60-$70 game carts. $60 isn't that much since its less than the game were 10+ years a ago

Games used to be more expensive 15 years ago, good games are bargains to be honest. Just don't buy the bad ones.

yeah i remember when i was a kid walking into EB and seeing Nintendo 64 and PS Games for like $89.99. but now it all depends on where you go to buy your games, i usually buy them at Walmart rather than EB or Futureshop. Walmart usually sells the game for $10 less

Go back even further and compare the prices today against the Neo Geo AES. ;)

I've been importing consoles for many years now and when I ordered my PlayStation from Japan I paid AUD$1250 for it and games cost like AUD$200.  I for 1 am glad I can import games from Japan and North America for a 1/4 of that price.  :)

Does anyone besides myself understand how inflation works? sure things are getting more expensive...gas? hello? but people are also making more money than they use to also. if you do research, games are a lot cheaper now than they use to be, and gas (bearing in mind inflation, is about the same price as it was in 1990) stop complaining. if you cant buy the game dont. wait till it drops to $30 for a greatest hit or whatever.

Did you play games back in the 8-bit and 16-bit days? New games were still around 60 bucks and don't forget about inflation. New N64 games were 60 dollars too.

Yea I just figured the one's complaining were probably younger folks, so I tried to use a reference point they could relate to.

I'll shock them a little then... carts for the AES cost USD$200+ in 1990!

I thought they raised minimum wage last fall to 6.95 (I know it is here in Michigan) so the PS3 is 86x min wage, and really if your making minimum wage you have bigger problems than the price of a PS3.

The price of games has not gone up in over 20 years!!! I remember when I was about 7 or so, and my parents bought Mike Tyson's punchout for us, it was 50 bucks in 1987!!! All the nes games new were 50 bucks, so a ten dollar increase about every 20+ years isn't the worst!! I wish cars and houses only went up 20 or so percent since 1987!!!!!!!!
