You know when the Playstation came out back in the 90's it was $299.99 ......that was alot of money back then and looked what it all did. Played music & games, now look at what your getting.
Man...the last two comments are so tough to read they hurt my eyes. Work on your grammar, otherwise some people (or at least me) completely skip over your post - if you can't write, I don't see why your opinions should be any more credible.

OP: I feel the same way. I currently have about 500 dollars in best buy gift cards (or, that is the total after I include some credit card rewards), so I'm thinking of buying one of the two systems. Thing is, I won't pay more than 400 dollars for a PS3, and absolutely no more than 300 for an xbox 360 - last winter, I purchased my bro one for 400 dollars, but its included a 100 dollar gift card. If I got that deal (from toys r us) last year, I would expect at least an equal deal 6 months later if I wanted one.

My advice to you is just to wait a bit and see what happens (especially for winter). Honestly I'm not an intense gamer. Everyone claims that the price is worth it for a ps3. I'm sure it is - technically - but for most of us we don't give a d*** whether its a good value. We care about the purchase price, and 600 is too much for a PS3! So I'm waiting for a massive price drop - maybe then I'll buy one.
