I am selling my PS2 soon and I was wondering if you have to have a PS2 controller to pllay PS2 games on a PS3. The controllers look the same but you have to have the GC's controller to play GC games on a Wii.
No, the new controllers will work just fine to play PS2 titles on the PS3. In order to even use the old controllers you'd have to buy an adapter. Not worth it.
The PS3 controller does a great job playing the PS and PS2 games better yet is it's all done wirelessly and another thing with the latest firmware update the PS3 brings the PS and PS2 games up to very nice graphics.

actually my 360 has NEVER broken :D Nice job giving Sony free marketing though :)
Since the PS3 controller doesn't have a rumble feature (yet), you might want to keep a PS2 controller around untill they do. Plus, you might want the extra controller for some multi-player games, if you're not the only one playing.
