I have never really been interested in Handhelds before, never was my thing.

Though when the 3ds came out, it was the first time I was interested in a handheld. I didn't get one, but was interested, now the Vita has me real interested as a future purchase. $250 isn't bad, honestly, and I might get it cheaper some time in the future. (we have Wi-fi here, and I don't really want the 3g even if it were the same price)

The 3ds has only a few games that I would be interested in and we are getting a WiiU so that should cover most of those types anyway.

The Vita seems like it will have more games of my style, plus better graphics, and streaming netflix (which we do a ton of).

So I am asking if you all regret it, or if you really do like it. If you think it will be a console supported for a while with awesome games on it too. I know its integrated pretty well with the PS3, but do you all think it will be integrated much into Sony's next console? (just a curious question there)

Not a comparison or to start a flame war, but I am really interested in the Vita, I assume it has good stereo headphone support?

Only thing so far I didn't like about the Vita is there will be no output to TV screens to show friends or something, but thats not that big of a thing, is there anything else that maybe I have missed?

I am seriously thinking of getting one if more intriguing games are announced throughout the year, but I just wanted to get a little info from you guys.

How are all the controls, I remember seeing it has a few new control styles?

I don't had a monster collection of handheld games for one device. As much as the DS Lite had a huge library there was still only a few that i'd pick for it. That said though for the price of admissions and the length of time and enjoyment out of it i got my money's worth.

The Vita is in the same sphere for me, but unlike DS or 3DS (where i'm more likely just interested in Nintendo's first party) the Vita will offer games - be they ports, spin offs or their own take with established IP's - that i would like to play.

Uncharted : Golden abyss is the best i've ever seen a shooter work on a handheld, and to think it's a launch game tells me that the future holds great potential for it.

I don't regret it at all, i just hope others see the value in it. especially fellow core gamers.

Yeah I saw it had dual analog sticks, and whatnot, would be great for an FPS, then I see that it has one or two for it, (or coming) and I am pretty interested to see whats going to be announced for it over 2012.

I am a pc gamer and console gamer at heart, but I think the Vita will be a great portal to get me into a more portable style of gaming as well as my console and pc gaming. Even if I am not at home, which I couldn't do with the WiiU tablet controller.

Will be limited on the Wifi version of how much online gaming can be done away from home, but I do not want the hassel of 3G, and there will prolly be a lot of great single player games on it anyway.

I was looking at all the games that are out for it now, and I am interested in 3 of them.

Wipeout 2048 ~ I use to love Wipeout XL and Wipeout 64.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma ~ I never got to finish the Ninja Gaiden Black on xbox, will be a wonderful chance here.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss ~ I have never played an Uncharted game, but we plan on getting a ps3 in the future for blu-ray movies, and a few other game franchises. The game is a prequel set before the events of the other games, so I won't have to worry about playing the other Uncharted games first. (unless I am wrong on this)

I told my family already that depending on what games come out for the Vita (also what is announced for it too) by December... (also depending on other things we may or may not get accomplished) The PSVita may be my Xmas and Bday present, since they are less than a month apart.

The Vita is awesome. I have not bought a handheld since GBA. But I bought a Vita and played some Uncharted and some Mod nation and I am very impressed with the machine. It does deliver a console like experience and these are only launch games. The games are going to get better as time goes on, provided they sell enough of these things.

Hell no! Haven't touched my PS3, 360 or 3DS since the Vita's launch. If anything I'm regretting the latter :P

I do not have a vita, but the games look cool. You have Unit 13, MLB The Show 12 (if you are a baseball fan), and Sumioni coming next month. Resistance comes out in May. Gravity Rush/Daze comes out in June. The next Little King's Story is in development. Sound Shapes, Little Big Planet, and Dragon's Crown should come out sometime in the near future. Ports of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter X Tekken are coming to the Vita as well. Hopefully Ragnorok Odyssey makes it over to the West as well. A weird Silent Hill spinoff is also due to come out at some point. I do not see the lack of software for this machine. Obviously the other system would have killer apps being out over a year on the market. The comparison between the handhelds is unfair.

My bad, I must have missed it.

Its edited, as I will ask all my Vita questions in here instead of creating another thread.

I have a few more questions about it that I thought of.

Are the prices for the games any different on the digital download portion as compared to the physical games, since you have to get those blank SD cards?

Has anyone tried any of skins, like the gel ones, or those crazy on digital ones?

I saw a wristband, I wonder if it connects to the Vita itself or if it just connects to the case? Would be awesome if it can connect to both!

Do the screen protectors get in the way much with the touch screen functionality?

I assume the mic/headset port is one hybrid port, which I must ask the question is there decent/good headphones that have a mic that are compatible with the Vita? At times I am gonna want all the sound to come out of the headphones/earbuds and still have a mic to communicate.

Oh and my GF brought up a good point. Asked whynot get the 3G version with Wifi for the extra (maximum $50), and just not get the data plan, and use it as a regular Wifi version, and then just incase we ever want to we can just activate the plan and have the 3g working. I assume the 2 versions are identical, but one just has added 3g support. Is this is all correct?

Also how is the performance, I see the graphics are nice, I see some of the loading screens are slow on games like resistance and unit 13 (videos) but how is the actual gameplay, is it atleast as smooth as the consoles?

Thx in advanced guys/gals.

Re: 3G...if you think you might add 3G at some point and don't mind paying extra, then go ahead.

I have 3G tethering on my iPhone, so I figure if I need to go online with my Vita, I'll just tether it, instead of paying AT&T twice over.

Danjin, I actually love Shin Megami Tensei, but I never got to play any of the Persona games. (I played Digital devil saga, Nocturn) Is the story connected in Persona 4 to the previous Persona games?

If they are connected, I will have to wait until I play the previous Persona games first, but yes SMT is a cool RPG franchise I got into about 3 or so years ago. (late I know, but better than never)

@Evolution Yeah, its kind of a "better to have it, and not need it, than need it, and not have it" thing. We may never use the 3g but its only a little bit more, and who knows there may be a time that comes when we travel where it would be better to have it. Then we will just purchase a plan for the time being.

U don't really need to play other persona games to enjoy persona 4. Each game has new story and characters, but I also recommend getting Persona 3 Portable.

As danjin44 says, get Persona 3 Portable for your PSVITA (if you decidde to get one). It is one of the best games ever made, no matter console or genre.

What load times? every game is different. Wipeout is the longest i know of, some have longer loads before the game starts but then little to no loading once you are in the games.

Load times are not what bother me, never really have unless they are insane!

What I am wondering more of, is how is the performance in game, I realize the graphics are top-notch for a handheld, but how well does it perform with those graphics.

If it performs under 30fps often then I will seriously re-think getting one, but it it plays most games 30+fps most of the time, then I don't think the framerate will really be an issue, though I would prefer it to be higher than 30fps.

Also lets say your Vita is no longer working to the point where you can't even turn it on, how do you deactivate games and your account on it before getting a replacement?
