Ok so I got a PSP about a month ago and I really do love it.  It is an amazing system that can do basically everything I want, I continue to say that it is my best buy ever.  However, I have noticed that I cannot find a game that I truely like.

I am probably going to get flamed for this but in all honesty it's just my playing style.  I get bored of games very quickly.  I have a pretty nice selection of games (according to what most of you say) but I just continue to fail to find a game that I really enjoy.  So what I am asking for is a game or a list of games that are highly addicting, capturing, great, and maybe different than the average game.

Here is what I already have:
DBZ Shin Budokai (So-so but the story sucked)
Lumines (Actually do like, but more of a picker upper than an actual game)
Grand Theft Auto LCS (Pretty good, did enjoy it, just lost interest)
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (Hated the controls, tried and tried, just couldn't do it, not for me)
Monster Hunter Freedom (Couldn't get into it)
Metal Gear Acid (Yeah.... no.... not for me again)
Killzone Liberation (Just started, liking it so far I guess)
Tales Of Eternia (Loved the graphics, music, and story, hated the gameplay)

I hate to sound like a winer but can someone please point me in the right direction.  I like customization in games. My favorite genres are RPG/Adventure but I'm willing to try anything.  Maybe naming some unknown or underplayed games would help.

Edit: My friend gave me Sid Meier's Pirates last night and told me that I would like it and that it's probably more toward my playing type is he right?

Try:

Exit (quirky 2D puzzle platform puzzle game)

Tenchu (the draw distance is horrible but when you get used to it the game is actually really fun)

Wipeout Pure (one of the first PSP releases also one of the best... this racing game will keep you busy for months)

Try Daxter. It's a really fun game but the single player can be beat in a week or two.

Is Daxter only $20 now?

And, I looked for Tenchu on gamespot, didn't find any matches for the PSP except one coming out in the future.

Wipeout Pure is a great game for the PSP and is pretty much a must buy in my book.

I'm kinda in the same situation.  I have my PSP for less than a month and my favorite genres are RPG/Adventure as well.  I'm pretty disappointed in the selection (RPG/Adventure games) up to this point.  I had hopes on Valhalla Knights, but a number of early reviews is causing me to be put off by this game.

I don't know why they limited these genres from this system compared to their others.   The wait for Crisis Core: FFVII seems so far away.

Try Tekken: Dark Resurrection. It is my favourite game on PSP, and easily the one I have played the most. I found it quite adicting to keep fighting in the Dojo and in Arcade mode to upgrade my "rank." It also allows you to customize your characters clothes, but I doubt that is the level of customization you are looking for. :P

Try playing the Warriors, Ratchet and Clank, or Syphon Filter Dark Mirror.

Your situation sounds very familiar,

i tried more or less the same games.

I have to agree with wipeout pure, although i really dont like racing games at all in general.

It is a superb game, easy to start off, difficult to master. Nice speed & graphics. It got me caught for a few weeks.

I was disappointed in Pirates! however: the gameplay was too shallow for me, just a mix of mini-games.

I enjoyed it for the first hour or 3 and then i got fed up with it.

Daxter was okay, but too much of a platformer for me sometimes, and very linear, but still i enjoyed it. Killzone was okay in its genre, but not really a top-game for me. TOEternia was like you said: nice graphics & atmosphere but somewhat tedious gameplay because of the constant random encounters. Watch oout with PopoloCrois aswell, nice atmosphere but very very tedious gameplay. I was disappointed in it.

The game which really should do the trick, althoug it seems to be somewhat buggy on the PSP and doesnt sound like a great game, would be PUZZLE QUEST: THE WARLORDS CHALLENGE. I played its pc-demo for like 10 hours! Its the best gaming experience so far.Try out the demo: http://www.gamedaily.com/canvases/gd/_a/download-puzzle-quest-demo/20070315101009990002

Thanks a bunch everyone, ill be picking up some games tomorrow or the next day.  I'll probably get two or three and I'm deciding between:

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror
Puzzle Quest
Valkerie Profile
Wipeout Pure
Tekken DR
Exit
Daxter

Go with Valkryie Profile and Puzzle Quest! They're both great RPGs without being your usual RPGs
