problem siging into CoD 5 ... HELP

ive been trying to sign into my friends ps3 and into CoD5 ...

i sign into the psn normally .. everything ok there

i started the game .. updated it .. evrything was good there too

but when i go into either 'multiplayer' or 'coop' modes .... when i hit 'find game'

i get a 'downloading game settings' at the bottom right .. and thats it :S

does anyone know the problem ?? and how to fix it ?

P.S. .my friends just bought his ps3 .. so is it normal for it to take long at the first go?
