problem with controller for ps3

i have a problem with my controller. when i turn on the system and press the ps button the controller flashes for a bout 30 seconds and then it shuts down, can someone help me. It works when i input the usb but when i take it off it stops working. the controller is fully charged but still won't work

That happnes quite often to me... I think it's when you turn off your PS3 but not your controller. Anyway, connect it with the USB cable to your PS3 and wait for a lil bit. After that unplug and it'll be ready to use.

I think this is a similar situation that I had .. it wouldn't play wirelessly ..

I think I plugged it in, played for a bit while it was plugged .. turned off my PS3 .. then tried the next day and all was fine .. don't know the cause ..
