I bought a new router a few weeks ago. It is a ****** N300 wireless router. I am currently connected to it using an Ethernet chord. It is this router here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/******+-+Surf+N300+Wireless+N+Router/9769176.p?id=1218170031312&skuId=9769176&st=******%20n&contract_desc=null Before I had a linksys wireless B router and the internet worked fine and I didn't have any problems with it. I bought this new one to improve the speed of the internet for my computers. The first few days it worked fine for playing NHL 11 online. However, after the first few days it started lagging. Then it started lagging even worse, making the matches unplayable. Now it won't even allow me to connect to any matches. It allows me to sign into PSN and when I ran the test connection it says the download speed is 4.5 Mbps and the upload is 2.0 Mbps. I don't understand why it would work the first couple days and now it doesn't. I'd appreciate any help with this Thank You

Also I've tried to use DMZ and tried disabling the firewall, but neither worked.

Hoestly it could just be the server to the game- If every test you did said that it was fine then it "SHOULD" be fine...I think you should try and host a game and see how that works out- if not do these 2 tests 1) just web surf on the ps3 browser to do a real time check (if pages load fast or what ever the load speed is for you) 2)after that then try a different game to see if you can play that online- if those two methods work then you know for a fact it could be the server for your game and not your connection

Do everything already posted and make sure it's nothing to do with your provider. The firmware could be the main problem if it's out of date for your router. Another thing is if you don't have any device that uses the N router connection then you could disable N and only use B and G network connection in the routers settings. I did this with my new router along with enabling the QoS option in my routers settings, this keeps the wifi network on the clearest channel possible.

Thanks guys. I tried the ps3 browser and it worked very fast. Then I tried COD:MW2 and it worked perfectly. I probably should have done this in this first place. Thanks again, I'll post over at the easports forum and see if there is a problem with their servers.

I have the exact same router and am having problems too. It will work fine for a while but then it will drop the IP and the only way I can get the wireless internet working again is if I unplug it and Plug it back in. I have to do this about twice a day.

Happy to help- Most times when your tests say the connection is good- but online play is choppy- it is either do to the games server or your ps3/ playstation network messin up
