There have been a tiny number of problems that many times could be user error. Fortunatly most of these can be corrected by asking on these boards or calling Sony tech support.
Here are a couple of user errors that really stand out.
First this guy thought that putting black tape over all the openings on the console would keep the dirt out but the only thing it did was keep the heat in (you can imagine what happened there.
And then this guy put a piece of bolona in the disc drive because it was round just like the disc.
Great, I doubt I'll be stuffing meat into mine. Lol. Second question: How does the PS3 look on a normal TV? Not HD or anything, cause I couldn't afford both.confucioussayyoWell think of it this way, most people are using the PS3s with normal TVs, so think theyd make it look bad?

Thanks dudes. :D
Are there any major problems with the PS3? I'm going to buy one in a few weeks and I just wanted to know if there are because of that poll on the gamespot page right now about the PS3 not have a shock controller. On a side note, Does anyone really need the rumble feature anyway?confucioussayyo
Nope. Probably the most reliable console out there right now.
Not having a shock controller? That situation resolves itself Spring 2008.
There's a rumor of a $400 PS3 coming out at the end of the month if you want to wait around. The HDD does drop to 40GB though if that rumor holds up.
