i am going to use lens dust cleaner...
is it good or not...?
thanks...-bye.
thank you ...
my ps3 is a new one. not worked more than a few couple of times.
i am wondered becuase of the problem...
can i use dust cleaner or its bad for the lens...?
thanks. bye.
Oh well, looks like the Blue-Ray died on you. Give SONY a call, they will issue a RMA#. Be prepared to probably spend about $150 to get it fixed.

You sound extremely grateful that this guys ps3 broke on him.... are you an xbot thats wondered into the ps3 forums?
I'd say cleaning the lens yourself is a bad idea. What exactly are you gonna use on it? If it's some kind of cleaning disc intended for a CD player I'd say forget it. I wouldn't use anything solvent based. Probably dismantling the PS3 and removing the lens and cleaning it with nothing stronger than a bit of water and a soft cloth is the best bet. I'm no expert though so I don't know if even that's a good idea. I'd say do lots of research first. Google 'fix PS3 laser' or something. Loads of PS3's have had this problem (including the first one I bought).
Honestly, there's no way I'd do this myself. I'd send it to Sony. You say your country doesn't have good Sony support. What do you mean? If it's possible for you to send it to Sony then you should do it. Are PS3's officially released in your country or did you import it? If it's officially released and you haven't had it for long the PS3 should still be covered by the warranty.
do you know... my country has f i l t e r e d youtube so i cant watch it. and the buffering will be long by dial up. any way...thank you.bardiamokh
so can any one tell me how to open it...? clean the lens...?

If it's still on warranty don't open it by yourself, doing that will kill the warranty. Take it or give a call to the place you bought it and ask them. They might help you on what to do. or you can do a research on sony's website
i bought my ps from an other country . so i cant go there to use my waranty... i fell in a bad hell... gamespot forum is my most hope.
ok ... please tell my can i fix it my self or not? and how to...?
someone help me before i kill my self...( or throw the ps3 down from the 13rd flour_ no it may hit someone. i wont do that so one of the forum guys should tell me what should i do...?
ok my story in brief : my lens has problems and I cant call sony or any other waranty presenters... i should fix it and for
the first i should know how to open it...
is it the software problem or hardware problem...?
apologize for getting your time.
thank you all._ bardia.

I never opened mine so I don't know how to. But still, opening the PS3 for cleaning sounds really dangerous to me. Did you check the manual or the PS3 website for troubleshooting? Are the discs you are using clean? (free of any fingerprints, dirt stains etc.)
]And there is this one also
check amazon.com

be careful friend. There might be a chance that after disassembling you might not be able to reassemble. I'd be very careful.
You won't go all the way and disassemble your PS3 to the last bit of course (as shown on the site). Once you remove the cover the Blu Ray drive will be apparent.

yes i know thank you so much my friend... but i didnt open it yet ... im thinking. i dont know the real meaning of warranty.. please tell me if i kill the warranty can i fix it in the same servise presenter ( but by paying the whole money...?) ???There must be a rubber band stuck on your PS3's side or back saying that " If you remove this rubber band the warranty (ability to fix your system for free) will be void" meaning you will have to pay for any kind of repair if needed. And yes you can get it repaired with the required payment. But why should you pay for something when you can get it for free. I still insist that you should take your PS3 to a sony shop or a technical service and get them to repair it.
Your Blu Ray drive may need replacing, and I think that costs around 150-200 $. If you have the warranty Sony will replace it for free, or even give you a new console in exchange.
