lol...there certainly ARE cons. Quick question...what is this DLNA media streaming?
One of the biggest pros if you have an HDTV is Blu-ray player and HDMI 1.3. Another nice pro is near full backward compatability until the new 80gb bundles come in.
Cons:
The PS3's future in terms of pricing is pretty volatile. So it's hard to recommend making it an immediate purchase unless you really need the EE chip for ps2 games.
Currently, the 360 has better games, and will have more high profile games at least until the end of the year (i mean in total, not new)
Most multiplats choose the 360 as the primary platform. 360 has more units sold and therefore has more leverage with developers at the moment.
Relative to the 360 elite, the PS3 is an easy buy with a similar price and Blu-ray player, but relative to the Wii, it's not so easy a sell.

I think everyone has done a good job touching on the pros of the system. It truly is a wonderful piece of hardware that is better designed and built than the Xbox 360. Sony is an electronics company that focuses on hardware. The two have similar specs, but there is no debate that the PS3 is a higher quality piece of hardware.
The biggest problem with the PS3 is that the majority of multiplatform games are being ported to the PS3 rather than being built from the ground up. This takes away all of the advantages of the hardware and the Blu-Ray drive. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that EA couldn't figure out a way to get 60 FPS on Madden or NCAA Football this year. Things like this matter to gamers who drop $500+ on a console. The same goes for GTA IV...It is highly distressing to me.
However, PS3 exclusive games that take full advantage of the hardware look fantastic. As has been in the case for the past 2 generations of consoles, Sony starts off slow and then releases a game that sends it soaring. For PS One it was Final Fantasy VII. For PS2 it was Tekken Tag, followed shortly thereafter by Final Fantasy X. For PS3, it looks like Metal Gear Solid 4 will be that game...only time will tell though.
Pros:
Reliable Hardware, Free Online Play, Blu-Ray Player, Built in Wireless, Very Nice Media Center Functions including the ability to use your pc as a media server, Great Looking and Highly anticpated exclusives coming out this year and many more coming out in 08', 10 year lifespan, 60 gig model has almost full backwards compatibility for ps2 and ps1 titles, Remote Play Streaming to PSP, Compatible with most brands of accesories i.e you don't have to pay a premium for sony brand, and free 5 blu-ray movies offer going on until late september
Cons: Playstation Network is not as advanced as Xbox Live yet though for right now it works fine for me, Multiplatform games get ported to the ps3 and hence those developers don't utilize the ps3's power when making those games (May change as ps3 sales increase, which they are), Current Library of greatgames is not as Large as a certain competitor but that will change during this fall and holidays.
Hope I was able to help.
do you have vista? what kind of games do you play? do you like to download stuff like movies or tv shows?those are questions you should think about
IMO, the only real cons are:
Price, the Network system is not as a Live and the games (the multi-platform ones don't show off what it can do so people could just buy a cheaper Xbox 360 console and get the same quality of gameplay, and the number of good games out there is very limited, luckily, the rest of the year is packed with good single-platform games, like Killzone 2, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Unreal Tournament 3, Little Big Planet and MGS4
Pros:that i didn't see listed
1. While PSN may not have all the features that Live has which i couldn't care less about(apart from trailers and demos)i've found it runs better then Live and is free making it my preferred online experience (i dont like all the flashy crap thats useless to meand all thatother crap, Home may be included in this i need to get my hands on it before i pass judgement though). No lag andmore importantly not as many punk kids.
2. I've yet to have someone play my PS3 and not be impressed and everytime I've talked to someone who doesn't likethe PS3 it always turns out that they have never played the thing.
3. UT3 + mods, quite simply there is not a better online shooter out there (apart from maybe its PC companion but the PS3 version is said to run just as well) add the FragFX (check IGN for tech review) and its a winner in my mind. And yes i can see into the future.
Add MGS4 which looks like it may offer the greatest single player experience ever, if the demo is any indication of whats to comeand we get the best of both worlds. Not to mention how good Uncharted looks IMO
4. Controller. I've found one's controller preference depends greatly on which system they grew up with. I grew up with playstation and therefore prefer the sixaxis design over the 360 controller (still thecontroller S?), I find the 360 controller is to bulky and requires the player to actually hold the controller a specific way, whatsmore is this way requires the player to actually "hold" the controller not to mention the horrible shoulder buttonsthat areeven worse then the old black and white button, only thing positive about the 360 controller arethe nice triggers. The Sixaxis on the otherhand is extremely lightand can be held in different positions all being comfortable (difference in holding position depends greatly on what type of game I'mplaying, for instance when playing racing games i hold it differently then when i play shooters). The Controllerjust rests inmy hands allowing me to be more comfortable while iplay.
Cons:
1. Not as many trailers and demos although lastcouple ofweekshave been astep up from the norm.
2. 360 gets the better multiplats because PS3 versions tend to be ports, when 360 starts getting PS3 ports expect the places to be reversed. The most notable multiplat however is Oblivion and it runs better on the PS3 (it bricked one of my buddies 360s) withslightly better visuals(noticibly better draw distance though)and shorter load times.

The 360 will have more high profile games??? what world do you live in? Last time I checked, you are getting 3 games that are worth anything this holiday season (halo, MassEffect, and BioShock)and one of them, BioShock, can be played on a PC. PS3 is getting the better games this holiday season including WarHawk, Heavenly Sword, Lair, UT3, Haze, Folklore, and others. This old story of having more better games on the 360 is about to change real soon, so please give us a break, will you?
Pros:
Untapped potential, reliable hardware, great customer service, blu-ray, free online, max of 7 wireless controllers being used on 1 console at the same time (supposedly),strong software franchises, strong consumer base (do youREALLY think that those who haven't bought a PS3 yet aren't planning on it in the near future?)
Cons:
Untapped potential, steadyflow of weaker ports (except Oblivion), small library, hefty pricefor a console withuntapped potential, a steady flow of weaker ports (except Oblivion), and an overall small library
I sincerely believe a steady flow of solid exclusives will cure all the PS3's ailments!
