Proud Owner Of A New PS3 60gb!!

Basically I was deciding between a 60gb or the new 120gb Slim, and decided, well you can't beat a 60gb for only 300! Basically same price minus the tax and I got more on my plate to work with. Happy to be in Sony's arms again lol. I'll be on GTA IV online tonight. Has anyone had any issues with the online as far as lag for this game?

The GameSpot PS3 community has changed, i remmeber when people used to get a thousands of ,"welcome to the dark side brother!!" lol now its like..Ok enjoy it...play beyond i guess..idk lmao ...im excited i guess thats all that counts...

Was this a brand new model or a used one. Are you the one that bought it off Craiglist? If so I hope you tested the model first for a half and hour since the older the model the better chance of getting YLOD. Make sure to keep your room cool. I always turn on the AC when playing my PS3 so the fan never really kicks in too loud. Also congrats on your purchase and being an owner of the best system this gen.

I have it in a good ventilated area, pretty open. I read somewhere that standing it up vertically is preferred for ventilation, is this true?

Id rather get the 80 gig version hehe. That one is very reliable and still has the web browser...

No actually horizontal is the preferred position. Just make sure to run your AC when playing games and the fan shouldn't be an issue. You have to keep your room at all times when playing the PS3. I'm sure if you got a slim that wouldn't be an issue but then your wouldn't have the added features. You can also clean it with you vacuum cleaner. Just make sure to unplug your PS3 and and use an attachement when vacuuming around your vents. That might help some also. Just make sure to keep your PS3 cool and you should be fine.

I've had one major issue with my ex ps3..the ylod 5 times. I have a 160 gb , the bundle that came with uncharted

My 160 gb is much more quiet comparent to the 60 gb fan that use to sound like a standing fan at its highest speed. Crazy stuff.

hey dont worry about the fan, my 60 gig does the same thing, had it since it was $500. Some games are louder than others, battlefield for instance is really loud

My 60 gb from april 20th 07. 5 monthes after it came out and no problems except sometimes freezing.

But is it actually NEW or second hand and new to you? I thought they were out of production for years?
