To everyone who has found the time to kindly contribute to Folding@Home...

You guys deserve congratulations.

*** My PS3 chugged along on its 13th Work Unit and I still found time to screw around with Oblivion and VF5.

Gaming and altruism are allowed to co-exist.

:-D  Good job PS3'ers!  Fight those diseases in your spare time!

How much time does it take to fold one work unit?  Because all in all I've probably allowed my PS3 to fold for 3 hours, and it hasn't even completed one work unit.  I do not want to leave it on over night, just for electricity and safety reasons.  But i'm guessing that's what you do TC.

Yeah it takes about 8 hours to complete a work unit but if you set it as a screensaver and run it a few hours a week it will still contribute a ton!

Good job dude!

well for all the new kids on the block, the purpose of F@H is to constantly let it run, at my school we have 3 dedicated servers that always run it, except in the cases of natural disasters...so just let your PS3 run through the night lol i know i do

Im 25% away from my 14th work unit.  Im ranked 3rd or 4th among gamespot owners who just started F@H with their PS3.  That means they have left there PS3 on since the firmware update.  Mine has been since the night of the update but i've been playing Resistance and Motorstorm a little bit.

Typically a folding unit takes a minimum of 8 hours to complete. I've personally have had a few that were 9 hours long. You have the right idea about not wanting to leave your PS3 on all the time.

I'm on my 8th folding unit, I just leave it on when I go to bed. I usually leave it on when I go to work as well!
