i for one will put of buying a 3dtv for as long as possible, on one hand its pretty cool but on the other hand HD has only become mainstream and people wont want to fork out for a 3dtv so soon after paying for a HDtv.

You have option to play Killzone 3 in 3D , not mandatory :) I guess you'll do fine playing K3 in HD :)

actually it has been around five years since i've bought my hd ready tv set, and i was intending to upgrade to a larger, full hd tv set with 100 - 200 hz technology, this year however with the release of the new 3d tv sets i intend to buy one next year this time around, when the second line of these show up, maybe their prices may drop to more reasonable figures... i do think that the best 3d experience will be in the games and i am looking forward to it... :)

You are welcome :)

My bet is by the time K 3 releases SONY'll decrease present 3D T.V price and also release budget priced 3D T.V thinking about gamers :) Its best not to upgrade T.V atm , just wait and watch the trend :)

I don't think I'll ever buy a 3-D TV... 3-D movies are a bad trend that aren't doing anything for the movie industry. It seems everyone wants to get into 3-D after avatar was so successful.

3D will become so cheap to impliment that u wont be ale to avoid buying a TV with it in the coming years. so get usd to it fellas. buy in now, or wait. same tech trend always happen. a few years back we were arguing about 720p or paying more for 1080p.... and before that we were arguing about rear-pro DLP VS projectors...

nope, 3D is overrated. I rather have HD quality with my current TV other than spending hundreds on a 3D one.

3-D games would probably be cool, but there's no way I'm spending $2,000 on a new 3-D TV to replace my nearly new HDTV I've already got. Even if they eventually get down to $1,000, the cost/benefit ratio is a total fail. I very much doubt this 3-D thing will catch on, there just aren't very many people who are going to spend that kind of money to get one of those TV's, so I wouldn't get too excited about a huge amount of 3-D content becoming available in the future. If only a tiny percentage of people are able to view it, it will go away pretty quickly.

arent that many peple interested? try working in retail. we would have sold truck loads of 3D samsungs if it werent for the fact they DIDNT ORDER any to my shop. we got a tiny handful 2 weeks AFTER launch while all the other shops in my town had theirs and sold out in the mean time.....trust me, 3D is gonna be huge!!! plenty of early adopters, and so far everyone has been impressed. next year when it hits that sweet spot price point, every man and his dog is gonna have one, and move their current big TV to the bed room.

I can't say if I prefer 3D over HD yet. I saw Avatar in 3D and wasn't really impressed, you don't even notice it most of the time. However if games were in 3D that would be another story and Killzone 3 has potential to be completely awesome in 3D. Disregarding cost I would at least give 3D a shot. I can't really bash something without giving it a try.

Not interested, developers can't even produce games in full 1080p resolution yet, minus a few exceptions. Now they want to make games capable to produce imagesin 3D? They're trying to run before they can crawl...I can see it in 5 or so years, but not now. Besides, who wants to ruin their eyes after 2-3 hours of gaming? Avatar was 3 hours long, my eyes were hurtin like hell after that.

imo all this 3D gimmick can only bring harm. it's yet another step added to the development process and let me tell you, game developing is a fricken marathon of work as it is, it's no walk in the park.

Having to dedicate development time and effort to implement 3D means they have to cut work and spenses elsewhere, and there's where the overall quality will suffer, also lets not forget that it will take more processing power to render the 3D stuff, which means that most likely the overall resolution and texture quality will suffer as well.

Of course KZ3 may turn out good in the end, but that's because guerrilla is a first party Sony studio, they have money to burn, but what about smaller studios? I foresee many crappy 3D games in the future, just because everyone will want to get into the gimmickry bandwagon, but since they don't have the kind of resources big studios have they'll end up sacrificing stuff that actually maters just to have stuff "popping out" of the screen...

A perfect example of that is that Invicible tiger game on the psn, you take the 3D gimmick out and what you're left with is a bland, unimaginative crapy game.

Wow most PS3 games don't even have proper antialiasing, yet they're already making 3D games, my guess is that this is going to be expensive and not worth it at all.

I find this 3D crap to be pointless IMO. What's wrong with playing with a flat screen? It's not like we'll all be like "OMG THIS GAME IS AWSUM BCOZ IT'S 3D OMGOMGOMGOMG" right?

I have not seen a 3D TV. I have no idea if it is good or not. When they say to me "Put on these glasses" and I say "Now I must have this TV because of how much better everything is on it", that's when I START deciding if I want one or not.

Otherwise I might as well be contemplating a flying car. Sounds great. But who knows?

Heres how I feel. They are too expensive for ME right now, but down the roard I might get one. I think some people are writing 3D off too soon and I see potential in them. As long as it does not hurt the game in anyway to have 3D optional then I don't care if it is there. I have not used 3D before excpet at disney World a LONG time ago. People do need to remember that not every game/movie that uses this is the same. Some devs make better use of it, just as with anything. Now I would have to use 3D before I buy into it, but I am a bit skeptical at the whole HD being lessened in favor of 3D right now because it takes too much power (I believe that is why). Next gen I think this will be better off in terms of price, technology, and devs. That being said, Sony is one to innovate the power of tech and be a early adaptor of this kind of stuff. I personally am glad they have pushed Blu Ray and put it in the PS3.

Anyone else find this a little "BS"?

HD gaming for me. There's no way in hell I'm shelling out 2 grand for another TV just for a gimmicky feature and another $200 per glasses. Especially for something that's probably make me gonna puke anyways.

To all those who say "you just have to try it". I don't. I'm 30 years old. I've been through this fad twice already. It'sstill a fad. It doesn't matter what coat of paint you put on it, it's still that old beat up rusty car.

I will wait to see if using 3D at home is enjoyable or not before buying into it. Also, I just bought a Samsung 46" 1080p LCD 2.5 years back for $1,700, and don't feel like dishing out another 2-3 grand to have 3D.

Why? 3d is pretty much just a waste of time. You go see a 3d movie and you experience maybe up to 3 things that actually come out at you, then after you walk out of the theater with eye pains and a slight headache. Why would I want to feel like that after watching tv in my own household :P.

Corporations will start mass producing 3DTVs and discontinue Plasma then HD TVs so we then have to buy 3DTVs and it will become a standard to watch in 3D.
