I am still on the new side when it comes to bluetooth devices so I am not sure about whether or not I need to get a new headset. I have a headset for my cell phone and I was wondering if I could sync it to my PS3 as well. If so, would I need to keep my cell phone off when using it for my PS3. I don't want to buy a new headset if I can use one on two devices. any help would be appreciated.

It should work with the PS3. I have no idea about the cell phone on/off thing though.

Do you have a headset linked to more than one device?

Fair enough :)

I just don't want to go out and spend $40 and then find out I didn't need to

You can pair it with the PS3, that's not the issue. The issue is going to be that the headset will be effectively paired with two devices and I'm not sure how that will go.

That is the answer I am trying to find out and hopefully someone was cheap enough to try this out. I just got a PS3 today and haven't gotten a chance to set it up and try out myself. I was debating on stopping at best buy and getting the Metal Gear Headset but only if I need a second headset.

I would think at the absolute worst you would have to re-pair the headset to your phone. Maybe just turn the BT signal off on your phone and see of the headset maintains it's identity even after being paired with the PS3.

I suppose so. I just didn't want to go through the hassle if someone has the experience. Also I wanted to get the MGS headset if I need it while it is on sale.

I use the same bluetooth headset for both my cellphone and ps3 and it synced just fine. I don't use the bluetooth on my cell phone around the house so I just turn the sync off the phone when I use it with my ps3. I'm not sure what would happen if you just keep it on for both ways. Give it a try, call yourself while you are using the headset on the PS3, you can't hurt anything.

Accept your inner ear lobe and a portion of the brain closest to the ear canal when your headset explodes into a million jagged pieces!!! My vote is to have someone else wear the headset while you make the call.
