I know a lot of people out there, who don't have a PS3, are dying to purchase PS1 games through the PS3 store and play them on their PSP. Let me explain why PS1 games on the PSP make me hate the entire human race. Okay, so I just decided last night to try one of these games since my MGS: PO umd won't work (50 bucks wasted, let's spend more money to make up for the loss!) and I wanted something new to play. I have Syphon Filter: DM, so even though the original Syphon Filter was my first choice I decided to try something different. I thought a platformer would be a good choice. So then I had to decide between Medievil and Crash Bandicoot. I'd played a little bit of Crash a long time ago and Medievil's main character seemed more interesting, so I chose Medievil. Okay, so far so good, I transferred $5.99 from my credit card and then I go through the 45 minute download process. Then I start playing. Immediately the controls feel not right, kinda clunky, and the whole screen isn't being taken up by the game so I feel like I'm playing some crappy homebrew, then I play around with control schemes and find that I can change the screen settings so it takes up the whole screen. (Press the home button and it brings up extra options if you're having trouble with this.). So now I'm set to enjoy my new old game. So I battle my way through the first 4 levels and am totally bored--I fear I have made the wrong decision. Then I go on gamespot and try to find some reviews of the PS1 games on PSP, I never had a PS1 so I'm not really an expert. I found the reviews on "http://www.pspfanboy.com/tag/retroreview". It turns out I wasn't the only one, Medievil does suck bad. So now I feel like a total tool. If I told my friends I just blew $5.99 of my hard earned cash on a crappy PS1 game they'd probably beat me up and gangbang my girlfriend. I have to do something to make this right, but what, what can I do? I can't trade in my digitally downloaded crap game at gamestop. The only solution is to buy more! I have to buy a really good game now to make up for the purchase of my crappy one, and hey, it's not that bad, I'll only have blown $11.98 (thank you computer calculator) of my hard earned money with the press of a button. So having carefully read all of the PS1 retro reviews, it seems like Syphon Filter isn't worth it, but I am really interested in Jumping Flash and kind of interested in Destruction Derby cuz I played this dreamcast demolition derby game and it was awesome, and I'm also thinking about Crash Bandicoot still, the review is good and it's by naughty dog and they say the game seems even more natural on PSP than PS1. Sounds good. So I go with Crash Bandicoot. Zoom--$5.99, Whammy--45 minute download--Kapow--start up the game. Okay, this one looks like a winner, the graphics are impressive for a PS1 game on the PSP and it seems like a good platformer. I am now completely whole again, nothing can stop me and my classic great best-ever game now, I'm spinnin' around breaking boxes, murdering turtles and little native people...wait, what do you mean I can't save after every level!? I just played played 5 f-ing levels, I have to go all the way back to 2nd one!!? Why didn't my loving parents ever tell me while tucking me in at night that in Crash Bandicoot you can only save your game when you collect three cards with weird guys' faces on them, go into a bonus round and make it to the end of the bonus round. Then you earn the right to save your progress. I never wanna play those levels I already beat again--Ahh %#$* I just blew more money!!!---Now I have to buy a really awesome game that's worth $17.97--Wait, for that amount I could have almost replaced my MGS: PO game that's not working after only 4 uses. This is truly the work of the devil.

No way I'm reading that unless it is endorsed by Flavaflav and broken down into paragraphs by Xzibit.

You can't trade them in so what. That's why they're only 6 dollars.

I downloaded Crash Bandicoot & Jumping Flash! and even though you're right about the "save" feature, they're still worth every penny. I can't wait to get more PS1 games to choose from. P.S. MediEvil does sucks, BIG TIME!!!! (PS1 download & PSP MediEvil: Resurrection, both are bad.) I prefer to play my PS1 disc of MediEvil on my PS3.

Nah, you can delete them just like any file, and you can even delete the files off of your ps3 without losing the game you've paid for. At anytime you can just go back to the playstation store on your ps3, go to download list and redownload the games you've purchased for no additional fee. And thanks for the feedback guys, I think I will try jumping flash and syphon filter. Can't wait for Resident Evil and I hope Duke Nukem Time To Kill makes it onto the PS Store.

The PS1 games are best for RPG's, considering that the PSP is severely lacking in that department. Breath of Fire, FF Tactics, Vagrant Story, Legend of Mana, all PWN the ass on the PSP, they look great, play great, and have huge, compelling stories. Definetely worth it.

I would be really down to buying PS1 games for my PSP...if I had a PS3.  It seems like an endless loop of needing everything made by one company to enjoy all the perks.  I guess I'll just stick with VP for now.

Wow.... 12 whole dollars?! How ever will you survive? Maybe next time before you go and buy a game you should research about it a little, perhaps even on say GameSpot.....:o

But seriously, I think MediEvil is a really awesome game, it was one of my favourites on the PSX, and Crash Bandicoot is good to, although I agree that the save system is rather annoying.

I read it, I just think he should've used paragraphs.  It's a basic practice that makes reading a wall of text much easier.

So, you're complaining because you downloaded some stupid games?  Maybe instead of wasting an hour and a half plus 12 bucks, you should have spent 10 minutes and no money doing your research and then you would have realized that downloading ps1 games aren't such a good idea right now.
