Yes it's true, about $5 a game and only a select few are on the store right now. Rumor has it that later this year sony will release a playstation store for psp owners that dont have a ps3. You will be able to download without the $500 dollar console
You can find games online to download, which are already set for PSP format from the PS1 system. I am currently playing FF7 (for the billionth time) on the PSP. There's no widescreen support, but its still good fun. Find out online if you wish to give it a shot or drop me a line.

That's also called stealing. You will probably be modded because gamespot aparently doesn't like thiefs.

thats not really stealing...you have to know the rules about playing FF7 on psp, and i will not discuss them here. And FYI, there is widescreen support on PS1 PSP games. CastleVania: SotN is better in widescreen :D[QUOTE="SDHcrusader"][QUOTE="lilriceboy"]You can find games online to download, which are already set for PSP format from the PS1 system. Oh, alright, I had just heard that by inserting a PS1 disc into your PS3, you could download the game to your PSP...Sacred-Snow
Whoever you heard that crap from is a moron. You have to download the games from the PS Store, then you can download them to your PSP. If you read the instructions online for doing this you'll learn.
Or alternatively, get custom firmware and make your own PS1 bootable eboots with your legit games.

My apologies for the inappropriate message left on this forum several hours ago. I meant what Jodan77 was saying. I DO NOT CONDONE STEALING GAMES but I do believe it is perfectly fine to create EBOOTS to play PS1 games on your PSP.
