Would I be able to use the same component cable I used for my PS2? Any reason for me to buy a PS3 component or are they the same thing? Thanks.

I use the sample Monster component cables on my PS3 that I had on my PS2. They work just fine.

The component cable that are used on the PS2 are the same as the ones used on the PS3. I used the component cables I was using on the PS2 when I got my PS3 without a problem of any kind.

They both use Sony's AV Multi connector, which works with PS3, PS2 and even PS1. As such, go ahead and use the one you have.
