PS2 is slowing PS3's Progress Down!!

The ps2 has been out for like 6 years and it is probably outselling the awsomeness of ps3!! i reckon sony should stop production of ps2s and concentrate on the ps3 more, they did it with ps1 why not ps2?

PS2 is still making money for SONY. Why should sony stop it.

I don't really see how it can slow down the progress of the PS3 sells. I mean, IMO, PS3 is a next gen console therefore is in a different market place than the PS2.Is not like people who can't afford a PS3 will get a PS2... They will probably go for the other (alternative) next gen console. Is not PS2 slowing down the PS3, is other next gen console competitors.

Sony did not stop producing the PS1 to concentrate on the PS2. They stopped producing the PS1 in like 2004. The PS2 launch in 2000.

And no, Sony should not stop producing the PS2. The PS2 is keeping gamers in the Playstation universe. When the people that have PS2s get ready to buy a next gen console, take a guess at what console they are going to give the first look to? the PS3.

Everything is more interesting with exclamation marks!!!! The PS2 is still making money for Sony, it is the better business move to keep it in production!!! I don't know about what someone said releasing a new PS2 version!!!! That would be crazy!!!

No, the PS2 owners are still happy with their systems. These are the PS3 owners in a couple years, Sony is smart to keep them happy and loyal by continuing to give them a great gaming experience.vegetattack15

Agreed!!! They want to show the consumer that when they buy a PS product, it will be supported for a long time. Unlike it's competitor who abandond their first console, which was only 4yrs old.

if it is still making money for sony there is no way they will stop making it. remember that it was only a year ago that sony stopped making the PSone, so i think the PS2 will be around for a long time to come.

and why think of it as competition, they are all part of a bigger family
