Because they was losing money on every PS3 sold, so they had to remove stuff so they could start making a profit on PS3 sales. And now that BC has been removed they can now make PS2 HD collection's to make more money.

If you live in the UK you can buy this

http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/sony/bravia-kdl22px300/sony-kdl22px300

They'll probably release bigger versions soon as well as a worldwide release.

This is because it costs too much money to add them both. PS1 games were classics so you can either put them in the PS3 or download them to play them. Sony is remaking PS2 games and is remastering them in HD, adding extra content, and is also giving full trophy support. Examples: The Sly Collection and The God of War Collection.

WockaFlocka

1. Because its a and outdated system, but all the greatest franchises sre geting "remade" in HD. 2. No, but you can download some on the PSN Store...

I don't understand why people say this. I have physically put discs of PS1 games into my PS3 and they all work.

And I don't know why PS2 games don't work. Some say because it was to make the PS3 more cost-efficient to produce without having the PS2 hardware included. Others say its to make a profit by re-marketing PS2 classics. I still have my PS2, so it doesn't bug me all that much.

You really shouldn't offer advice on something you nothing about. Yes, you can play PS1 games on all PS3 system SKU's.

honestly this is not a hard questuion to understand. A lot of ps2 games were not designed for HD. So they just can't be played well. usually encounters audio and visual problems.

"Deal with it", you say? Well, it's rather simple. No more Sony products for me. :| That's how I'll "deal with it".

To each his own, I guess. I don't really think the removal of BC is enough to warrant boycotting a company though.

It is when it's coupled with horrific build quality. My xbox has been solid as a tank for over two years now; the one I had before it that did RRoD was because of hard disk failure. Meanwhile in the same time period, I've had to replace just the ps3 four times, to have one that is supposed to be of superior build quality, and feature-complete. Sony already took away my Linux functionality. I'm not up to them taking away any further functionality and calling it an update, or charging me another $150(+) in ransom only to get a neutered unit back. The only actual reliable Sony product I currently own, is my modchipped PS2, which has managed to last about six years now, all thanks to about five bucks worth of capacitors replaced and soldering. I've had my fill of Sony build quality, and what that entails. I'm sick of having to rebuy playstations to have a unit that works. And those slims are flimsy pieces of **** and wholly unacceptable for what I paid to have. If Sony wants to sell a half-assed console at full price, that's their prerogative. But I refuse to accept it.

Wow, four times? That sucks dude. Now I can see where you're coming from. I guess you're the exception though.
