Actually, the psp talking about graphics, its pretty close to the Ps2. Not equal but close. There are many great looking games exclusive for the psp.But if you planing on buying the psp specially for the graphics..maybe u should think it twice.

If you are talking pure hardware power, then the PSP can go beyond the PS2 graphics on that little screen. But doing so would make the battery only last a hour or so. In general, the games hover just below the quality of PS2 games. At least the ones where the developers actually put effort into.

The PSP graphics (at least with the better games) are slightly below the PS2's. Still though, that's pretty impressive for a handheld.

The PSP is close but not quite its sort of like a PS1.5 but you have to remeber it can hold movies and music so it does make up for it self and I believe that pelican is making a battery that holds two times the charge of the normal battery so it lasts longer.

Both got free games with ease. 1 is portable 1 isn't, and other than library sizes they're kinda the same. So I'd say get it.

Certain games have better graphics than other games on both systems, although the PSP has a faster processor than PS2. (You will also miss the second joystick.)

PSP can perform around 70% of ps2 graphic. the texture maps and frame rate is not good if compare.

examples are winning eleven, tekken DR to tekken 5, metal gear portable ops to mgs 3 sub.

I don't think capcom able to make a resident evil 4 for PSP with 80% of ps2 graphic.

I loved my PSP for the first year and a half that I had it. Now it collects dust as I play PS3. I suggest a PS3. It has more great games coming out than the PSP. I actually can't believe I waited 5 months after release to get a PS3. It impresses me so much. Although the PSP is still good, I didn't really use it as a portable device. It was something I played at home when I wasn't interested in my old console games. Since PS3 has a steady stream of games, I have no reason to play it anymore.

o man, i don't know what psp i'm playing but. i haven't seen any cutscene on the PS2 thats better looking than the one in Crisis core[where Angeal Sephiroth and the other guy fight on top of the cannon thing]. gorgeous. much better than any ps2 games i've played. unless i'm missing out on some amazing looking PS2 games.

hmmm now that i think about it. the FF12 intro with the fighting and marriage is equally as good as the Crisis Core cutscene

There's a big difference there though, PS2 isn't portable. :P

It's pretty unfair to compare the two. One is a handheld, and one isn't. They will naturally be different and have different standards of what's awesome.
