I'm really on the fence about getting this new Sony branded 3D display to replace my 3+ year old Westinghouse If I don't care about 3D at all, is it worth the purchase? Is there an upgrade in picture quality between the two?

You should really consider this, I'm hopefully buying it, it's too good to miss. Sony want as many people as they can to jump to 3d. I appreciate what they are doing here.

24"? That's way too small imo. I would get something larger but it's your preference

Why waste your cash if you don't care for 3D? You can get quite a large TV for $500 or use it on something else, but $500 for a 24" is a bit excessive imo.

if you don't care about 3D, then I agree with this statement.

Its 24 inches, and also for top-end monitors, you pay what you see, $700 on my 24" monitor, don't regret it.

Sony need to put specs out and what its max 2D res is.

yeah, get the panasonic st30, which can be had for a little over 850 for a 42 inch. The sony bundle is nice with the game, etc... but a 24inch screen will require you sitting right up on top of it whenever you wanna play anything...
