Especially the owners who bought the ps3 the first day

I'm going on 2 years now with my PS3. Couldn't really be much happier with it, for a console. Dependable hardware, excellent exclusives (and plenty of them), the majority of 3rd party games... the library is really becoming respectable as of late. I'd give the PS3 an 8.5/10. :P
Mine died short of its second birthday, so I can't say much... but it did pretty good for nearly two years.
At least it wasn't crapping out on me every two months like, you know... the other one...
I bought the 60 gb at launch and have no problems with it. The 80 gb that I own at college is not doing to well. I still say that Resistance is the most addicting game of all time. Beaten it over some 27 times. :D
I don't think i'll be truly happy until I have Final Fantasy Versus XIII in my hands ready to be inserted into my PS3.
3 years for me and still gong strong. Though last year I didn't play so much, I'm starting to get back in the swing of things.
The PS3 has had a really bumpy road, it went from having crappy commercials to hardly no advertising, losing exclusives to being a dominating force with awesome ads, great exclusives and the best bang for your buck. Happy birthday PS3 and let the pure dominance keep on rolling.
After 2.5 years of owning the console I want to say I am fully satisfied but I really just cant. The majority of the time the system just sat there, unused for extend amounts of time. Constant SKU updates, long drought periods between good (not gimmicky) exclusives, crappy multi-plat ports from the 360, lost exclusives, constantly playing catch up to competitive consoles have left me a little disappointed considering the success of the PS2 over everything else.
Lately it's been getting better for the PS3. More good exclusives, and overall they are improving the experience. But in terms of satisfaction, for the money paid I just cant be that satisfied. I hate to say it, but I think its true.

I agree. I've had the PS3 from launch and am still a bit bitter about all the time the PS3 sat there waiting for games. (I wont trust Sony on their next launch so i wonder if that will hart them on their next console launch.)
Saying thatthe PS3 is greatnow and am happy playing my PS3 exclusives.
Just short of it's second birthday, huh? Sorry to hear that. :( Mine is... *nervously looks at nearly two year old PS3*Mine died short of its second birthday, so I can't say much... but it did pretty good for nearly two years.

It still has crappy adverts and hardly any advertising.

I'm very satisfied with my launch 60GB PS3 very much. I bought it January 2007 just 2 months after the North American launch. Early in 2008 by Blu-ray drive stopped reading disk and after 1 week repair it been working how it should - properly. I believe good amount of 60GB owners had blu-ray not reading disk errors since it were the first models, got myself fairly cheap 320GB hard-drive to store numerous media I use.
Other then that, PSN and HOME updates had been quite impressive, not to mention free of charge. Online had been rock solid with almost all exclusive titles. I was quite sure Sony will start charging for online service but so far they haven't, which remains a big plus, I'm slowly building up Blu-ray movies collection.
As for games, I can't complain to much. I wish they were more JRPG's, it seems like shooters are overcrowding the console market. Other then that, It's been very good three years, not to mention recession and media which always seems to over-criticise everything PS3 does.
With the upcoming games list for PS3 I'm more then confident the console will last as long as it's PS2 brother. Looking forward to next 5 years. ;)
I have had my PS3 MGS4 80GB BC model sinceAugust of last year and I love it so much I bought the exact same model brand new when Amazon had a few for Sale this June. Since I can play most PS2 games in addition to all the PS3 games I feel it is a great value and it is nice when I want to go online which isn't often that it is free. I do wish that they had a few more exclusive games that hadsplitscreen co-op game but besides that I have had no issues with the system(knock on wood).
3 years and i am on my 3rd PS3. hopefully three is the magic number. i got the b/c 80 gig at launch. LOVED IT! stolen 3 days later (hmm 3, im seeing a pattern) my next one a 40 gig lasted up until a cpl months ago (Blu Ray drive failure) i now own a 120 gig slim and had my first problem shutting it down the other day. i quit the game, ejected the disk, and the screen went black. i couldnt shut it off by holding down the power button so i unplugged it. if this one takes a deuce on me im walking into sonys offices (think mike douglas in falling down) they OWE me!
other than that, i obviously love my PS3. the games have gotten much better and are coming out so fast i cant keep up. their advertising still is lackluster but the number and quality of exclusives is turning that arround. and of course blu ray is the bees knees.
Believe it or not, the reason why the Playstation 3 has few games is because the Playstation 3 uses cell-based architecture which is much harder to develop for than the PowerPC architecture the Xbox 360 uses. Regardless, I'm glad great games are starting to come out for the Playstation 3. Ever since the cheaper slim was introduced they have gotten more sales.
I got my fatty at the price drop and I do not regret it at all. Money WELL spent.
I've had a 360 for about a year before that and it hasn't seen much play since I got my PS3 to be honest. Plus with netflix now on PS3 and facebook and such, it's definately more and more of a value
The exclusives are also great =-)
Plus, i've kept just about every PS3 game i've owned so far, and I've traded almost every 360 game i've ever owned... interestingly enough.
Also, blu-ray player. 'nough said.
Had mine about a year and a half and its been great. I play more xbox but that's just because all my friends have xbox. The ps3 is a great platform that has a lot to offer.
I've had a PS3 since the beginning. (tears of joy) :P
It's came a long way in 3 years. IMO it's tranfsformed from a $600 Blu Ray player with very few good games, to an awesome gaming machine at only $300 with lots of great exclusives now available. Trophies are awesome, the console is reliable, I still have my 60GB and it works great :D
Do I regret buying a PS3 at launch? Absolutely not! I decided to wait an entire year for it... I could've bought a 360, but I wouldn't do it.
