Ps3 80GB vs Ps3 60 GB

Is there any difference between the two? I recently got my launch model 60gig replaced by a refurbished 80gig console. What would make the 60gig more superior to the 80gig except the memory card reader?

There could be a lot of differences as not all 60gb and 80gb ps3s are built the same.... From hardware ps2 backward compatibility, partial software ps2 backward compatibility to even no ps2 compatibility for the 80gb ps3s. And there are many other features that may be different. One 80gb model came with a sixaxis controller and the other came with a dualshock controller. Scroll down to model comparison.

1 big difference other than the memory difference is that not all 80gb ps3's are backwards compatible. there is the 4usb 80gb ps3 that is backwards compatible (piano black with some chrome color) and there is a 2usb 80gb ps3 that isn't backwards compatible (same colors as the 40gb ps3)

There is no differenced between PS 60 and 80 GB other than Space. PS 80 GB provides more disk space than 60 GB and It's price little higher than of 60 GB play station. If you require more game to store than you can buy 80 GB PS.

Thank you everyone. But is it worth keeping this 80GB or go back to the store which replaced my old 60gig and demand a new one? Also I don't play any PS2 games and I don't need memory card reader and it seems the 80gig runs MUCH MUCH quieter but the main question is (since I'm getting more lag):

Is there any performance difference?

The difference between PS3 60Giger and Then PS3 80Giger. Is that the 80GB model uses Software emulation for PS2 B/C. Whereas the 60GB has Hardware for B/C with PS2 games.

The 80giger I purchased for the Epic spouse, Up and died. So I bought another 60Giger for $110.00. Seems that second generation PS3 80GB is prone to dying of Ylod. By contrast the PS3 60giger seem to be faring better. My FEB 2007 60Gigger is still working. The Epic's November 2006 60giger seems to be holding up.

So with the old Phats seems YLOD falls on luck of the draw when that SKU was made, or some lot numbers have fared better than others when it comes to YLOD.

I miss my 60GB, but it stopped reading discs. 320GB runs like a champ, but I miss being able to play games from all three Playstations on it.

If there is no performance difference, then would someone tell me why I've been experiencing so much framerate lag in Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption?

Might it be because I changed from LCD 32inch to 3d LED 47inch? Or because I changed my PS3?

Skyrim is a glitchy mess, on all PS3's. The updates have helped, but I still get freezes that make me have to power off the console to fix.

Yes it might be glitchy but I didn't experience so much lag on my old PS3. Do you think it's my TV or if the problem comes from the 80gig being a refurbished system?

My old Tv had 60hz refresh rate and the new one has like 200hz. Isn't that supposed to make it better and not worse? Or could it be due to all the post processing stuff LED tvs do?
