so i am getting a ps3 soon slim 250gb

i have a samsung 40" full hd 1080p

in order to have the best quality what kind of hdmi cable should i get?

also will the ps3 work well if the cable is v1.4 or 1.3b?

i was thinking about getting 1m Newlink HDMI v1.4 Oxygen Free (99.9% Pure OFC Copper Cable) Heavy Duty Die-cast 24k Gold Plated

will that get me the best out of the ps3? how do i know if it goes up to 1080p?

thanks

I just bought an HDMI cable here and didn't waste my money on a box or fancy name like "monster." They're all pretty much the same. I spent two dollars and have been using it for a year and a half with no problems. My PS3 looks great on my mom's 46-inch hdtv. My cord's even green. How badass is that?

Edit: I spent three dollars. I forgot I went with a longer cable. It's still cheap and wonderful though.

The cheaper the better. There is zero difference in picture quality with 100 dollar cables and 2 dollar cables. Go google Cnets HDMI article. Amazon, Meritline or Monoprice are great places to find HDMI new for cheap.

there's really no difference to the naked eye..gold plated or silver plated doesnt reallllly matter. $10 is still awesome though..best buy chargers $30 minimum...

Good rule of thumb for HDMI cables - if you pay more than $10 for one (including shipping) you got ripped off. $20 if you're really impatient and must buy one at retail...but at that point you could have gone to monoprice and ordered half a dozen cables for the same price. [QUOTE="Steyrvolt"][QUOTE="starwarsjunky"] i may have to use those instead of amazon next time, just for the funky colors :P

And handy! Makes it easy to trace them back to your devices if you have a lot. I've got green, blue, red, orange, black, and grey ones for my various stuff (PS3, 360, HD-DVD player, cable box, HTPC, camcorder).
